I used the purple bag of Member's Mark Supreme Blend all winter long, and all of my backyard birds, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Woodpeckers, Sparrows, Doves, Grackles, Starlings, Finches, Chickadees, etc loved it. I decided to try this Pennington "Wild Bird Feed" and it's night and day. Only the Sparrows eat "some" of it, and they push the majority to the ground uneaten. "Cherry Flavor" is a joke. I should have spent the extra $5 Supreme Blend. Don't buy this blend!

The first time I bought this seed, I didn't notice anything wrong with it, but this is the second bag I've bought and it was full of sand burs. I don't mind a few sticks or anything like that, but the sand burs are a problem. I don't want the birds scattering those in my yard because I'm afraid sand burs will start growing in my yard. So I've picked through the seed before putting it in my feeders to pick all the sand burs out first. The pictures are all the sand burs I've pulled out so far and I've only picked through half on the bag so far.

This used to be our go to birdseed. Was quality seed with cherry flavoring added that all the birds seemed to like. It's been out of stock for awhile at our local Sam's club so I was excited to see it back in stock. Although I noticed the price had increased by $6 a bag! I placed a curbside order for 2 bags & once home when I was pouring it into our seed container I was so very disappointed to see all the dust! It's just like a cheap filler seed you'd expect to pay $10 a bag for at other retailers, it's full of small sticks and stalks, there's absolutely no cherry scent whatsoever, it's just dry and dusty! What a huge disappointment. Had I known this I would not have purchased almost $50 worth!

I have been buying this seed for a while. The last bag I bought had to be returned. It was full of chunks and smelled of mold really bad. Returned and got another bag. It was very dusty and not clean like it used to be. I kept the bag , I did not want to drive back to Sams. Birds must not like the dusty taste, they aren't eating it very fast. If I get another bag like this I wont be buying again.

I have already gone through 150 pounds and winter has just started. I was buying a similar mixture from another store. It was a 40 pound bag for two dollars more, so this is a good deal. I feed 3 32 ounce soda cups a day. It attracts a lot of birds. They wait in my neighbors hedge, the over head power lines and the trees in my back yard. It takes less than 60 seconds for the birds to come down, once I have left the feeding sites. Even the squirrels get in on the action.

We thought spending $5 less a bag and getting more would be a great deal. We put the seed in the feeder and boom...our birds disappeared. Was it the cherry flavor? (why would birds like cherry flavoring?) Who knows. I was so disappointed in this. I am returning all the bags I bought and spending the extra money for the purple bag bird seed. The squirrels won't even eat it. Terrible product. Don't waste your money.

We usually feed sunflower seeds to the birds around our house. Against my wife’s advice, I thought I’d give this stuff a try. One birdfeeder with sunflower seeds and one with this stuff. Sunflower seeds won out by a landslide. I wrote Pennington and they said “Sorry”. The only readon I’d buy this stuff is if you want a product that will last a long, long time, like kale on an all-you-can eat seafood buffet.

Even grackles and doves turn their breaks up at this mix , my normally crowded feeders are devoid of birds . I remember having to throw this bird repellent away the last time I made the mistake of buying it and I won’t make that mistake a third time .

I would wish to express my disappointment with Pennington Wild Bird Food With Cherry Flavor (50 lbs.) Item #: 501588 | Model #: 100524909 purchased at Sam's Club Altoona PA. Awhile back, I switched to this product and have lost nearly all of the visitors to my feeders. I can't explain it, maybe I have finicky eaters. I now have no choice but to switch back to my previous feed with hopes of regaining the population I once had.

I’m actually laughing because I was just sitting with my father in law telling him I bought 50 pounds of this bird seed and I thought the birds knew I went cheap on them! They’ve snubbed me. So, you know what I’m doing? Filling the bird feeder anyway because a RACCOON comes every night and empties it for me! What else am I going to do with it? We have fun watching him come out at night to have dinner. I’ve got to get rid of this stuff. DO NOT BUY THIS BIRD SEED. Your birds will be angry with you!
