Much was wasted since the filler was thrown on the ground and not eaten, which is not normal when I use my normal brand of bird seed. Since we were having a weeks of snow storms and I could jot get my regular brand I finally tried the Pennington brand but will not purchase it ever again due to the birds not eating the filler. Usually they eat every single seed and never waste it but they do not like the Pennington brand.

Listen. This is sad for any company selling bird seed. Milo, wheat, cracked corn and a couple of other items out there contain FILLERS. Birds don't want them. Always Google to be educated. You can buy 40 lbs. of black sunflower for under $20 at Walmart. There's also the green and yellow bags (Mfg. 3G?) or the Fruit & Nut (diff. colors) which have risen in price. Better ingredients w/o the fillers. Or buy your own sunflower seed in bulk at Oak. Nurs. on 161 near Riverside Dr.. Pennington has some good but expensive F& N variety, but anything will fillers is shameful.

I bought this for my mom and the birds outside her window wouldn't eat it, so I brought it home. The birds at my house won't eat it either. The feeder has been tasted but stays full. After months I am going to dump it out and get something else. What to do with the other 47 pounds in my garage I am not sure.

I purchased this bag of seed because the one I have purchased from Sam's (for the past 8 years) was out of stock. This blend may have been okay but it has waaaayyy to much filler, my birds just leave ur all behind (what a mess). I hope they restock the premium blend at my location soon. I ended up going to Atwoods for my last bag of bird seed.

I see reviews that say this seed is good, and some that say it's not good. I usually buy the Members Mark seed, which the local Boids love! But since this seed was a few dollars cheaper for more quantity, from a name brand seed company, I thought it was worth a try. I was surprised to see my local Birds won't try it. The few that did, didn't stick around for more. So I don't know why this seed works for some and not others. But it doesn't work for me... unless you want a bird feeder you never have to refill! LOL
