Closest to homemade!

Excellent and easy to serve mashed potatoes. I’m almost 99% sure they get Bob Evans to make this product. It’s exactly the same as the stuff I have gotten with the BA label at the grocery store, down to the plastic clamshell and the best by date printed on the clear inner wrapper. Follow the instructions for heating and make sure to stir in the watery layer… there’s nothing wrong with it. I usually just microwave it (stirring gently every so often to avoid overcooking) but sometimes I’ll put it in a skillet with a little bit of broth or water and do it that way instead. I have struggled with chronic fatigue since getting C-19 in 2020, and now I’m getting cancer treatment, so homemade mashed potatoes are absolutely “too many spoons” so these are so helpful to me. I love using them on top of a shepherd’s pie in addition to having them as a side dish. The flavor and texture is just like homemade, complete with some little chunks of potatoes (which is how I’ve always made it at home… better to leave chunks than to overmix and end up with gluey potatoes.) It’s obviously made with real potatoes. If you got a bad batch with “dark spots on top” then take it back to the store for your money back. It’s really easy to damage the seal on these (or sometimes a customer will pull these out and leave them at room temp too long and then they get restocked) so mold occasionally happens on a fresh product like this—it’s happened to me with Bob Evans actually.

Just Felt Weird!

I have had this brand before without problems. However, this last time that we purchased it, we noticed that there were lots of dark chunky pieces inside of it. At first I thought maybe they were dried potato skins. But, after eating a small amount, I felt sick. So a few days later, My husband was going to eat the second batch but did not because it had a pinkish tint. A real turn off!

Inconsistent- won't try again

The first time we got the potatoes they were very good. So, we wanted to have them again. This time they were grainy and bland tasting like they came from a very old box of powdered potato mix. Will not but them again. What do I do with the second container?

Quick and Delicious

I have brought this many times. You can microwave them and have delicious mash potatoes within minutes with no extra pans needed. They are creamy potatoes. You can add extra such a sour cream, cheese, bacon, etc., but I enjoy them with my pot roast or as a topping on my chicken casserole with a light sprinkling of cheese. I often use one tub immediately and freeze the other.

Lumpy Potatoes

Like many of us...I have gone from making homemade mashed potatoes to the convenience of prepared trays of mashed potatoes in the chilled section. While I have had really good success with Bob, unfortunately the M.M. brand is dry, bland, and filled with chunks of black "eyes" of potatoes. These are not creamy! I would plan on adding milk or cream if you buy them. I tried to add cheese and bacon to make a "Loaded" version...but there's no denying the base is dry and flavorless. A friend of mine adds a whole stick of butter to the tray and these definitely need it! I'll finish these once I dig out all the black eyes, add salt & pepper, milk or cream, and butter...but no way would I make this purchase again!

Better than my own mashed potatoes

Bought in lieu of family’s mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving meal. Threw them in a casserole dish, was a little watery so I was concerned. But warmed up perfectly! Everybody liked them and the no prep/clean up was completely worth it!! Highly recommend.

Yukon Gold mashed potatoes.

Feeding a large group? No time to peel and boil potatoes? No problem. This is an economical and easy solution. They taste great and are probably saving you money. Your microwave does not use nearly as much power as your stove top and your time means something. These potatoes taste great and arr are a much better solution than the national brand available at local markets. I add butter in between 1st and second cooking times. Just makes them a bit more creamy at serving.

Not good

Normally I make my own but at times have used another brand from the grocery store. I thought I would try these since I was at Sam’s and was very disappointed in the flavor. Most things at Sam’s I like but this one we will pass on due to their flavor.

Easy mashed potatoes

Absolutely great just out of the contact! Or heat them and add some butter and sour cream, sprinkle some chives on top, for that I've worked all afternoon on these!
