Square Trade

Wonderful protection/ replacement plan that I have purchased on all my electronics and printers. When unable to fix my last 2 printers over the years, Square Trade reimbursed me for the cost I paid for the product, Excellent choice!!

Auto Deny

Filled out a claim online and was auto denied. Had to call in and spent 35 minutes arguing with the rep who said my initial mechanical issue (covered for electrical and mechanical) was negligence on our part instead and voided any other electrical claims. Then they wanted me to send item in for repairs once they did relent. I thought it was a replacement or refund plan so had to ask supervisor but they didn't have a replacement available. And now I have to send the item back to them in order to get reimbursed for what I paid, which is a lot less than the current model. Worst warranty experience I've ever had, especially for an inexpensive item to begin with. Big fail on Sams Club and "Allstate" protection plans.

They Refused

They are not a protection plan but an extended warranty plan just like those annoying auto extended warranty companies that call you at home unsolicited. They will waste your time having you do all of the leg work to get your merchandise fixed or replaced. Not worth the money.

Do not buy this for a gift, or as a 2nd member.

I bought this using my Sams Club account, which is part of a company/business/group account. It's an account in my name, but it's auto-enrolled to whomever the master member is, therefore the warranty is in their name, not mine, which I'm sure will make it invalid as the warranties are not transferable. Also, their site doesn't allow you to change that information. I'm going to ask Sam's for a refund. Why Squaretrade does this is beyond me... just put a number on the receipt and tell the end user to register with that number... but they wont.
