We always recommend allowing the appliance to cool completely before moving, cleaning, or storing. Using a damp, soapy cloth, wipe down the cooking surface and cover, and then thoroughly rinse the cloth and wipe again. We have additional cleaning tips in our included instruction manual. Hope this helps!
