This product does instill your clothes with a long lasting scent. Personally, I found the scent really overpowering when I wanted to wear the clothes right after washing. I think this might be nice for clothing that you wear less frequently or that you plan to let sit in your closet or dresser for a couple of weeks between washing. I got this product free to try in a trial box and I'm really glad that it was brought to my attention. Especially with the summer months, I'm always looking for something to help keep my clothes from getting really smelly or sweaty. I tried these in a load of towels I was washing. I was worried they'd clog the washer but they didn't. When I smelled them after the dryer, it was t very strong. So the longer lasting scent, didn't last very long at all. I did try this product for free, but I'm not being paid for my review. Perhaps my load was too bulky for just one pack. I'm willing to try it again

I recently had the opportunity to try Downy's new Fresh Protect April Fresh In-Wash Odor Shield Beads and was really impressed. It made my laundry smell amazing, which is sometimes a challenge with an 85 lb German Shepherd! Our bedding smelled April fresh for quite some time after washing and it was quite a difference over washing with just detergent. It smells absolutely phenomenal to start. As a really active person, I am always coming home with smelly workout clothes and just one 'dose' (if you will) of this stuff works wonders. I was unsure about trying this due to the fact that I've tried other brands of the same product and didn't like nor buy again. However after trying downy I loved it!
