Dual fuel generator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With the weather been weird and the power go out quite often at my place. Receiving the generator is a game changer. Even though, it is about 111lb, but the generator come with wheel which it make it easier to carry around. This is a dual fuel, it can run in both either propane or gasoline. Easy to use with electric start, just push the button. It is easy to maintenance and its quieter than the other brand. I would like to recommend it.

Began positive

I have had several carb issues. I worked where we sold Generac generators, and always spoke highly of them. I owned a GP5500 prior w/ few problems. I always kept ethanol free gas or gas w/ Stabil in my IQ3500 . Which purchased 9/2019. I had one carb replacement a year ago ,after a month wait for parts from Generac. It would start but not run and the ECO setting would shutter and shut the engine off. Now it is repeating problems, after only being run on ethanol gas for less than 1 hour. We used it to run the 13.5K A/C or to run heater fan and charge RV batteries. We were able to do one or the other at a time. It was never able to pull the 25 Amp specs.

Great Inverter/generator

Well it took a week or two after getting my new Generac IQ2000 before I could mess with it. I put the oil in and gassed it up, set evertything to "ON". It took several pulls for it to start the first time but it ran great. I love the "Time Remaining" the gas and also love the load graph, really neat features. It is much quieter that I expected. I think it will be perfect for what I bought it for. Thanks Generac!

30 amp advertising misleading

I bought this to power a small rv with a small a/c unit. It is strong enough to handle it; however, I am having to purchase an adapter to go from the L5 outlet to the TT30r. $800 is a lot to me, but this is my third generac product and all have worked well. It is quiet. I just wish that I had known that it would not work out of the box without purchasing something else. I called customer support and told them what I needed and they did not inform me of that either. Not a negative review but a head's up for future buyers.

Off grid for 1 year

Due to Covid, I have been living off grid for about a year. I run my generator for 6 hours every 3 days in order to charge my lithium batteries, and it has met all of my expectations. The electric start is great, and I have only used the pull start twice, when it was well below zero. I would definitely buy again. My only concerns are for me, I find the fuel remaining display hard to understand and don't use it. My only other comment is that the spark arrester got supper dirty and clogged up to the point that it made the generator very hard to run. I removed mine and have not had any issues since.

Quiet, powerful and reliable - a dual fuel generat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The build is solid, everything looks professional and well thought out. Started up from the first time! What I was particularly pleased with is that it is very quiet, especially compared to other models. It doesn't rattle, doesn't scare the neighbors, doesn't disturb my sleep. You can safely turn on at night. The power is enough for the refrigerator, and for lighting, and for charging appliances at the same time. Works both on gasoline and propane - convenient when one of the options runs out. The digital panel is simple and straightforward, you can see everything: how many watts are being used, how much time is left - a complete sense of control. And yes, its weight (122 pounds) can be felt, but on wheels it rolls easily like a suitcase, not dragging with effort. In general Generac iQ3800 is peace of mind in any situation: blackout, going out with family, working remotely - it will not let you down. Beautiful, powerful, smart - I recommend it 100%. Yes, the Generac iQ3800 DF generator does support both gasoline and liquefied propane operation. This is confirmed by the model's official specifications - Dual Fuel: Runs on gasoline or liquid propane, providing flexibility in the choice of energy source. - Run time: up to 13 hours on gasoline and up to 16 hours on a 20-pound propane tank at 50% load. - Power: 3,000 watts in run mode and up to 3,800 watts when running on gasoline; 2,700 watts in run mode and up to 3,400 watts when running on propane.

More quiet than i imagined

Nice size, unbelievably quiet. I have a Genrac Home Standby generator and have had great luck with it so hoping for the same with the portable. I wish 'RV Ready' meant it had a 30A RV plug instead of 30LR5 Twistlock or at least make it an option to eliminate the need for an adapter. Wish there was a wheel kit, cover, & other accessories available for this unit.

Realibility

I bought this generator because of its realizability. We lived in NJ, during both hurricane Irene in 2011and hurricane Sandy in 2012. In both storms we relied on a Generac generator for solid performance for over two weeks without electric. This was huge, as we owned a dog kennel in which we were able to keep going, helping a lot of our customers care for their pets. Tom

Happy to have purchgased the IQ2000 over the red competitor

I struggled with the decision to purchase the IQ2000 over the EU 2000i. I needed a compact, quiet, conservative generator to power my 32 foot boat while docked away from port. After listening to a trusted freind who had researched the product and stressed the fact it had been tested by three independent labratories; I bit the bullet and made the purchase, That evening after oiling and gassing my new unit it sat runnning next to a honda both at full load, as they were heating the hot water tanks in the boats. The Honda was predominantly the loudest across all load conditions. The LED instrumentation was also great, i could look from inside my boat when I woke in the morning to see the remaining fuel level before starting the coffee pot. Throughout the entire Memorial day weekend "60hrs" of use the IQ2000 burned 5 gallons of fuel. Needless to say, I made the right choice and got alot of Honda owners attention.

This product will amaze you!

I bought 2 of these generators because I live off grid. I expected to buy 2 more in a year because I use one 24 hours a day to run my home (2 bedroom home) on... I've been running these two alternately for 3 years now!!! They are awesome! I'm 1.6 gals of gas, will run my home for 13 hours!!! And are amazingly quiet!!!
