Get what you pay for

Definitely not the cheapest, but it'll be worth the money in the long run. All features are as advertised, quiet, powerful, LCD screen provides very useful information. Parallel kit to use two at once works perfect as well. Would recommend to anyone. However, NO WHEELS. Being an inverter generator, this is heavy. So I was surprised when I could not find a wheel attachment for this. It would make moving around so much easier.

Great product

I tossed around the ideal of getting a portable generator so I wouldn't have to lug around my other larger ones. I was convinced that the Honda eu2000 was the best and quietest on the market until I started reading about the Generac iq2000 and watching some videos. I just couldn't make myself spend 900.00+ for a Honda. So I purchased the Generac iq2000 last week. It arrived extremely well packaged, with manual, engine oil and funnel. Added the engine oil and some gasoline and it fired right up. This unit is quiet !!! performs well and I love the features it has. Well done Generac !!!

Add more trouble with this product right out of the box

It's a big generator a heavy generator and a very very noisy generator. We've had trouble from day one we've had to replace the starter once and after that and has run rough the Generac dealership worked on it and said it was something to do with the engine. I have bought suitcases from Generac the IP series and had no trouble with him this one my friends is noisy heavy bulky you cannot read the panels on them it's an LED readout very very hard to read I just wish Jen erect had stayed with the gauges they used on the suitcases generators. Also trying to get to the oil spout is very difficult to change the oil I had to buy a pump just to pump the oil out of it. There's a lot of features that need to be worked on this generator. I bought two of them for our deer camps both have the same problems.

Very Impressed

I don't like giving 5's but a 4 ("Good") didn't seem like enough. 4.5 is where I'd like to be. Let me start by saying I've never owned a generator, but we wanted one that could get us through an extended power outage and could be used to run a few power tools in a remote location. I probably didn't need a 3500 but I'm sick of going small and regretting not getting the bigger one, so I went with the iQ3500. First all the things I like. The generator looks great (I know that doesn't matter, but trust me, it does), and it feels like a tank. After I filled it with gas and oil, I went to start it. It's got an electric start but I wanted to see how the cord start felt. I pulled the cord out super slow to see how long the recoil would be and it started! Seriously, I barely pulled the cord and it started first try. The next thing I noticed is how crazy quiet it is! And when you put it on Eco mode, you could have it in the middle of a tailgate and people would tell you to turn own the music before they told you to turn off the generator. I used it to power up my table saw, drill, shop vac (not same time), which were no problem, and of course plugging in lots of low pull items like a radio, fan, etc. is nothing for this thing. Now the thing I don't like: I mentioned it is built like a tank....well, it's as heavy as one too. To call it portable is a stretch. My wife and I can move it around, but we wouldn't want to carry it too far. Either it needs to be made with wheels or some sort of cart should be an add-on. But that's the only bad thing I've found so far. Really impressed with this, and it's a U.S. company too!

Great new iQ model to the lineup!

Great new product from Generac. We also have their other iQunit, iQ3500, which we use for camping and other needs but needed something with more functionality and ability to connect to our LP tank which this product solves our need. Super quiet, easy to start and move around with the added wheels vs the prior model.

Made life without power during the huricane considerably more tolerable.

This generator was a blessing. We went from oil lanterns and flashlights to lamps, fans, and TV. We were also able to cook a hot meal with our electric fry pan and pot. The general 2000 started with first pull and was quiet enough for our 3 year old grandson to sleep comfortably. This was a wise investment for a premium quality generator.

Excellent

Bought this generator because I could not find the generator that I was looking for- turned out I got a better generator at a better price! Light weight compared to other generators in its class, very quite and looks great. I recommend this generator to everyone I meet. I’ve demonstrated it several times to other campers as we travel across America.

Great looking , quiet and affordable generator!

Researched inverter generators on YouTube for hours to find the perfect unit to power my camper at unserved sites. Narrowed my choice down to the Honda EU 3000is or the Generac iQ 3500, but it was the Generac’s cost that made it the easy decision! For being equally (or possibly even more) quiet, 20lbs lighter and having nicer features such as a keyless starting switch, automatic choke, and a display screen for monitoring voltage output and run time to gauge oil changes it knocked it out of the park!! Generac…please make a nice fitted storage cover for this generator! It is a beautiful unit and deserves one! Only one complaint is that the generator started surging right out of the box brand new. I carefully added the included engine oil to the correct level and poured in clean, fresh gas but it needed a carburetor cleaning probably from having residual gas sitting in the carburetor or float bowl during product testing before packaging and sitting in a warehouse for 2 years until I purchased it. Service was covered under warranty, it was just the inconvenience of having to take a brand new unit in and the frustration of fiddling with it myself for 4 hours previous to the service. (I removed and cleaned the carburetor personally, the service centre only removed the float bowl as people are lazy now). ***Be mechanically inclined if you buy this generator. Good service doesnt’ exist anymore. No one will help you. 😑***

My review*

I give Value for the Price an average rating only due to my price point was $800 instead of $700.$719. If I had it shipped to me it may have been around the same price in the long run. If not more. Any how I am impressed. It was easy to add oil as well as fuel. Just as easy to start. Basically I purchased this generator for camping. Which should suit all my power needs. When more power is needed. I'll just buy another and run a parallel connection. But I got my eye on the GP 6500.

Great generator

I bought this last night at mills fleet farm due to the outage from windstorms in our area. Utility keeps pushing back power back on time and date. As these outages are becoming more common, I purchased this for these emergencies. Started first pull after removing from box and adding fuel and oil. Unit is fairly quiet. Ran my freezers and refrigerators, tv overnight. Was surprised, unit ran longer than anticipated at about 8.5 hrs. Very pleased. So much so, that next bring I will be installing a complete home stand by gen set with auto switching. So tired of our outsourced utilities. Generac hit a homer as far as I’m concerned. Great product.
