Hello, the clips don't have to be moved, it is a matter of which part is higher than the other. The sofa goes into the arm, and the arm goes into the chaise, no matter the configuration. Lastly the sofa drops into the chaise. It is designed this way to be assembled in either direction. Glad you were able to put it together though! Enjoy! - The Abbyson Team

Hi there, when you open the sofabed section, please pull UP, not out. This will help keep it on track. Try not to pull toward you as it is already extended and only needs to be lifted. We bought this for our loft area, where the family watches TV and hangs out playing video games. Very easy to assemble and comfortable. This size fits perfectly in the area we wanted it in. The only thing is one of the cushions had a snag in it.
