Sweet Baby Ray's Barbecue Sauce, the Pride of Chicago since 1985

Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce was first introduced to the nation when a local Chicago resident nicknamed Chef Larry entered his family's recipe in the Mike Rokyo Rib-Off, the country's largest rib-centric barbecue competition. The sauce, seasoned and slow-cooked to perfection, was named in honor of Chef Larry's younger brother. Sweet Baby Ray's beat out almost 700 other entrants in the competition and a legend was born.

Over 30 years later, Sweet Baby Ray's sauce is still made with the same ingredients and still made in Chicago. While the company now features 40 different varieties, the original recipe is still their flagship sauce. Best tasting bbq sauce out there! I used to buy another brand and have to “doctor” it up with added flavors but SBR got the recipe right so there’s no need! The spicy sauce is also delicious so please consider bringing it to shelves Sam's Club!

When Sweet Baby Ray's first started appearing on grocery store shelves I asked a fellow shopper on their opinion on Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce. I got a stern look and a reply of "it's the only brand I use". That has been at a minimum of 25 years ago since my first encounter with Sweet Baby Rays but since then " it's the only brand I use"

I love Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbecue Sauce! It is the perfect sauce for pulled pork, pulled chicken, and ribs of any kind. There is just enough spicy-sweet seasoning to make any dish taste fantastic. SBR can be used on any food you make. (Though I wouldn’t add it to cheesecake, but you do you!)
