About this item

Product details

Use the battery finder for help selecting the battery you need

Duracell® Automotive Battery, Group Size 24F, is a durable, maintenance-free battery for use in your car, light truck or van. This 12 volt automotive battery is optimized to give you maximum all-weather starting power in even the most extreme weather conditions. It is the ideal solution for reliable power and performance in automotive applications.

What are cranking amps and cold cranking amps?

Cranking amps (CA) are what determine how much power you have to start your vehicle under most weather conditions. Cold cranking amps (CCA) determine how much power you have to start your vehicle in extreme cold conditions. The CCA specification is lower because it's harder for car batteries to provide power in cold ambient temperatures.

What are the battery's specifications?

This Duracell auto battery is 12 volts with right-hand positive polarity. It delivers 752 CCA at 0° F and 890 CA at 32° F with a reserve capacity of 120 minutes.

Reserve Capacity

The reserve capacity specification indicates how many minutes the automotive battery is able to operate the most essential vehicle functions while driving at low speeds if the alternator fails. Essential functions in this context are the windshield wipers, low beam headlights and windshield defroster.

Posts

The posts are located on the top of the Duracell Automotive Battery, Group Size 24F. The right post (red) is the positive post and the left post (black) is the negative post.

How long will this battery last?

The lifetime of any battery depends on how it is used and how it is taken care of. When used as directed, this Duracell automotive battery is expected to last at least three years.

What does group size 24F mean?

The group size 24F designation refers to the Battery Council International (BCI) group number of the battery, which indicates the dimensions of automotive batteries. The dimensions of a BCI group size 24F car battery are 10.3 inches long by 6.8" wide and 8.9" high.

To have your battery installed, please call your local Tire & Battery Center to schedule an appointment.

Duracell automotive battery from Sam's Club

We were lucky to find this top of the line battery at Sam's club. It appears to be very good quality with a 3 year replacement guarantee. The mechanic at Sam's installed the battery for us and the wait was only 15 minutes. We are happy with the service and the battery.

Duracell battery deal.

Great deal. I've had several Duracell batteries before and they have all performed well and been long lasting. Sam's price beat the auto speciality and discount stores, so I'm happy with the price. If it lasts like the last one it should last almost 5 years, which I think is pretty good.

Had battery replaced.

Left key turned to the right in ignition all night. Battery completely dead. Called store and three-year warranty had expired exactly a month earlier. Had it charged and went to store and purchased a new one. After the fact I asked if I could have had the old one checked to see if it were still good. Mechanic said that would had taken over an hour. That was fine because I didn't have the time. I purchased the new battery for my peace of mind and the warranty. Wanted to be prepared for the cold weather.
