About this item

Product details

The Champion Power Equipment 3500W / 4375W Dual-Fuel Generator is a dual-fuel generator that can provide your home, RV or jobsite with the power you need. This gas power generator has a robust engine that also includes a 3.3’ propane house. So when you need to rely on a portable generator for your next trip in the RV or simply want reliable, portable power somewhere outside, be sure to pick up this Champion Power Equipment 3500W / 4375W Dual-Fuel Generator to meet your particular needs.

How Do Portable Generators Work?

The science behind a portable gas powered generator is quite simple. The generator itself is a combustion engine, usually running off of gasoline or diesel. When the engine turns, it takes advantage of the properties of electromagnetism and spins magnets against coiled copper wires. This in turn produces electricity that you can use to power your tools, home and RV. Portable generators are extremely easy to set up and keep going as well, and maintence is simple, but does vary by model, so check your manual for specific instructions in that regard.

What Size Portable Generator Should I Get?

When it comes to the size of a duel fuel generator, like any other Champion power equipment purchases, the answer will revolve around individual needs. When it comes to running an RV, which is the primary purpose of the Champion Power Equipment 3500W / 4375W Dual-Fuel Generator, you will most likely have all the power you need from something that can produce around 3,000 watts.

How Long Do Champion Generators Last?

The Champion Power Equipment 3500W / 4375W Dual-Fuel Generator can provide up to nine hours of electricity on a full tank of gas when operating at a 50% load. This will provide you with plenty of electricity during your travels and adventures outdoors.

What Other Features Come With the Champion 4,000-watt Generator?

This Champion generator has a 3.4 gallon fuel tank, as well as a propane hose with regulator. In addition to this, it has a low oil automatic shutdown and has also been designed to be EPA 49-state compliant. The power generator has been built with a 1” diameter tubular steel frame for additional durability and protection, so you can rest assured that your investment will last for a long time. Last, it also comes with Cold Start technology that will get you up and going during windy and/or frigid conditions. Dual Fuel Generator

So far I'm impressed with this generator. After purchasing the wheel kit and installing I finally prepped the generator, added some gasoline, hooked up a propane tank, and started the generator. I started first using gasoline. I was amazed that it fired right up on the first pull of the starter cord. After running for a minute or so, I shut off the fuel valve and let the generator run out the gas. I then switched the fuel type switch, turned on the LP valve and again it started on the first pull. After running for a couple of minutes I turned off the fuel valve on the generator and let the engine die. Totally satisfied so far. Just need to add some load to the output and test.

Replacement Generator

I bought this earlier this month as a replacement for a larger 15 year old unit that I only used a couple times each year. I was having a problem starting the old unit because the gas line/carburetor was always fouling up and I was spending more time on repair than on emergency usage. I figured that a unit that runs on propane would solve my start up problems. As an added security, It also can be run on gasoline (ie: belts and suspenders). This new unit arrived on time and had no assembly required. Just added oil and attached an LP tank. Pulled the starter a couple times, with choke at 75%, and she started right up and was running smoothly. I also purchased the wheel kit (Champion #40065) and had it attached in about 15 mins. One other thing I attached was a propane tank gauge level Indicator. Now I am confident of an emergency power source that will start every time with no problems for my power outages. So, my rating is based on delivery, initial setup, startup and overall appearance. If I encounter problems in actual usage, I will update this rating.

I like to run it on propane

I have not had it long but I like it so much I had to write a review. I run my generator on propane. It is so much cleaner. I use it to power my RV, so always have propane. The output matches the power requirements of the trailer, which just plugs in with the same cable. It goes in the bed of my truck, under the bed cover, which keeps it safe and dry while travelling, but I don't run it under the cover, obviously.
