The cuvée is completed with 12% of red wine using grapes specially raised and selected to bring strength and aromatic intensity. Veuve Clicquot Rosé draws on a particularly high percentage of reserve wines, from 30% to 45%, to ensure the consistency of the House style. Winemaker Notes

This non-vintage Rose is the end result of a desire to create a Rose champagne with a delightfully luscious, fruit-based charm. Jacques Peters, the cellar master, and his team wanted a champagne that would be accessible and naturally engaging while conserving Veuve Clicquot's essential values in terms of style.

The wine has a luminous color with attractive pink glints. The nose is generous and elegant, with initial aromas of fresh red fruits (raspberry, wild strawberry, cherry, blackberry) leading to biscuity notes (almond, apricot and brioche).

The fresh attack is followed by a fruity harmonious sensation on the palate. The wine is perfectly balanced in the best Veuve Clicquot style of pink champagnes, combining elegance and flair. The wine works its magic—this delectably full champagne can be enjoyed as a true delicacy. History and Know How

Veuve Clicquot is a French Champagne House based in Reims, founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot. In 1805, Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin took over the family business after being widowed at the young age of 27. She is credited with transforming Veuve Clicquot into one of the greatest Champagne Houses in the world, thereby becoming one of the first modern-day business women. Veuve Clicquot stays true to its heritage through Madame Clicquot’s motto: “One quality, the finest.” Madame Clicquot was widely recognized by her peers for her formidable contributions and ultimately became known as “La Grande Dame de la Champagne.” Over her lifetime, she invented three of the most important innovations in champagne that are still practiced today. In 1810, she created the first vintage champagne by blending grapes from just one year’s harvest. In 1816, in order to find a way to clarify champagne, she invented the riddling table, today recognized as fundamental to the traditional champagne production method. Finally in 1818, she created the first rosé champagne made through assemblage by blending her red wine with champagne. Veuve Clicquot possesses one of the finest champagne vineyards, both in terms of size and quality. The majority of the Veuve Clicquot vines are classified as Grands Crus or Premiers Crus – the two highest classifications of Champagne vineyards. Veuve Clicquot distinguishes itself by impeccable winemaking credentials through the dominance of Pinot Noir in its blend, giving strength, complexity, and elegance to the champagne.

From harvest to shipment, Veuve Clicquot is inspired by the House’s longstanding motto, “Only one quality, the finest.” This is elegantly embodied in the Veuve Clicquot style, based on four essential elements: the predominance of Pinot Noir in each wine, the generous addition of priceless reserve wines, the superb terroir of Veuve Clicquot’s own vineyards, and the long maturation of the wines (longer than legally required).
