Founder’s Reserve is an extremely well balanced whisky, full of sweet, creamy vanilla and caramel apple notes, along with zesty orange and hints of buttery biscuit on the finish. First Fill American oak casks are instrumental in creating the flavors, because, like a coffee filter, the strength of the cask’s effect lessens with each use. These casks were first used to mature American Whiskies like Bourbon, which by law has to be aged in new oak casks, and used only once. Founder’s Reserve is a scotch that elevates the every day and is something to call your own for happy hour and any hour. Incredibly smooth and versatile it can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail. Founder’s Reserve</li> <li>1 tsp water</li> <li>1 sugar cube</li> </ul> Muddle the bitters and water into the sugar cube, using the back of a teaspoon. Almost fill the glass with ice cubes and add the scotch. Garnish with the orange slice and a maraschino cherry. World class Speyside single malt

My go to most frequent single malt Scotch. Goes down smooth, no chaser required, as it should be to truly enjoy the full flavors in a great Scotch. Match it with a premium cigar, and it doesn't get any better.
My local liquor store always has it on stock and on sale frequently, couldn't ask for more.😎🥃

Very smooth. An absolute delight

Nose: Oak, bananas, toffee, nice sweet smell

This Glenlivet Founders Reserve has an amazing nose with a pleasant sweet smell that I enjoyed. The palate wasn't bad and lacked complexity. It was flavor was ok but felt that it was a tad bit boring and underwhelming.

It's decent

This was a gift. While far from my favorite single malt label Glenlivet has always been an OK quaff. Unfortunately not this bottle. The reviews that call it smooth I just don't get as it requires at least 50% water to reduce the bite, for me. I do like my single malts with abit of water but judge how good it will be with a taste neat, and rubbing alcohol as stated in another review is as accurate as I could get. It will get a place in the back of my cabinet to make room for more go-to favorites, and possibly find another home altogether. Glad I didn't spend my own hard earned $$ on it!
