Founder’s Reserve is an extremely well balanced whisky, full of sweet, creamy vanilla and caramel apple notes, along with zesty orange and hints of buttery biscuit on the finish. First Fill American oak casks are instrumental in creating the flavors, because, like a coffee filter, the strength of the cask’s effect lessens with each use. These casks were first used to mature American Whiskies like Bourbon, which by law has to be aged in new oak casks, and used only once. Founder’s Reserve is a scotch that elevates the every day and is something to call your own for happy hour and any hour. Incredibly smooth and versatile it can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail. Founder’s Reserve</li> <li>1 tsp water</li> <li>1 sugar cube</li> </ul> Muddle the bitters and water into the sugar cube, using the back of a teaspoon. Almost fill the glass with ice cubes and add the scotch. Garnish with the orange slice and a maraschino cherry. My Favorite

Nose: Oak, bananas, toffee, nice sweet smell

Finish: Short, what light oak

This Glenlivet Founders Reserve has an amazing nose with a pleasant sweet smell that I enjoyed. The palate wasn't bad and lacked complexity. It was flavor was ok but felt that it was a tad bit boring and underwhelming.

It's decent

I was given this as a birthday gift last May and without doubt this is the worst 'Malt' I've ever tasted, I have left it a few months and tried again, but no, still poor, like a bog standard blend whisky. I have had many different Glenlivet malts and they, apart from this, are in my top three malts in the world.
Sorry but my thoughts.
