T-Molding The main function of a T-molding for laminate flooring is to provide a seamless transition between two types of flooring or floor surfaces of the same height, while also protecting the edges of the laminate flooring. This is a beautiful floor. The variations in the wood tones makes it look very expensive. I will be buying this same flooring again!

Better than expected!

The purchase of this product was the last "buy" in the process of replacing our old CVT flooring in the basement with a bona fide upgrade. We are very pleased with our new floors.

Wood laminate flooring

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was the exact  piece my husband was looking for to finish up our flooring color and all! I went on a whim bc we didn't keep the original flooring information, so when thus popped up we gave it a shot and it's a perfect match

This is it

I cannot complain about the quality of this molding, but the size and variety are the reason for not giving it 5 stars. The kit matches the flooring exactly and was very easy to work with. As long as the package has what you need this will do the job, but it can get expensive quickly.

Each pack as two T strips, one reducer and one dead end strip. These pieces match the flooring well and are easy to cut, but their shorter size and the variety of pieces in the package can make them pretty pricey for certain installations. 

I needed two reducers to trim out floor tile around the gas fireplace, so I had to buy two packages. I had to find a different solution for my patio door. I was going to use the deadend strips, but the are too short and I didn't want to piece them together. I ended up with a strip aluminum L channel instead, which looks fabulous. For my whole house install the Ts and the dead-end strips will end up in the scrap pile, which seems pretty wasteful.

There's no matching quarter round in the package. I needed some to replace the pieces just under exterior door thresholds that I pulled out when I started this job. I ended up taking a piece of the flooring to Lowes and matched it up with the wide variety of off the shelf (and much longer) quarter round they carry.

Short pieces and mixed types can be expensive

This was easy to install and so far (it’s been two weeks) we really like it. It’s easy to clean and feels good on our bare feet. I would have given five stars but from the packaging I could see that there was some grey but that said,  we have grey sofas so it does look good.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I feel like I can’t give a completely fair review of Select Surfaces Flooring. I was able to choose the color I would be receiving, but I didn’t realize that it would be a molding kit. I thought I would be receiving flooring pieces/samples, which I could have used, but there’s not much I can do with a molding kit without flooring pieces/planks, so I’ll do my best to give my opinion on these moldings. 

Select Surfaces Heritage Oak Molding Kit is a collection of the pieces of flooring that one would use to put wherever there’s a stop or break in the floor to add a finishing touch and protect and cover the edges of the floor. For example, where flooring comes to a stop at a door, a molding piece would be placed to finish it off. It looks like it would be simple to self-install, with easy to understand instructions on the back of the package. 

The very first thing I noticed about these pieces was the color. It looked lighter and more natural in the photos online. I’m looking for new flooring for my bedroom and bathroom, and that’s why I was so excited to receive this Voxbox. In person, though, it appeared to be a much different color, with different shading and texture than the online photo had. The laminate that I received looked like basic oak wood laminate from the 90s, to be honest. It didn’t appear to mimic real wood, at all, but looked very much like laminate. I took photos of it against the laminate that I have in my living room, and I feel like I can easily see the difference in the quality of the texture. I have a small half bath that also needs new flooring, so I may try and find the planks that match this Select Surfaces molding kit and see what I think. I do know that molding kit pieces are not always a great representation of the flooring pieces as a whole; they tend to look of much lower quality than the actual floor planks. This is the reason that I only took one star off. Even though I think it looks “cheap”, the actual flooring planks might look much better. I may end up purchasing the flooring that goes with the molding, but I don’t know if I can get over the color.

Not quite as expected

This product is an obvious match for the associated laminate, but the plastic anchor leaves a bit to be desired.  An aluminum anchor channel would be worth the addition price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Okay - so I would never order this myself, but it came so here goes. I despise this stuff. It’s fake wood and screams fake and plastic. You know it’s fake plastic cheap stuff from 200 feet away, you catch even a glimpse of it and you’ll feel insulted and ashamed. I’d pass and never talk about it again.
