Replaced a similar GE unit

To be honest, I've never heard of Midea, but this unit was well-priced and had the features I wanted to replace a GE (that failed after just over a year), so I went for it. Works fine so far, nicely packaged and easy to install, seems well-designed, but I'll have to see how it survives next summer's 100 degree stretches, which can be really hard on small a/c's around here.

Highly recommend

I purchased this little unit when my central air died, in the middle of an 8 day series of 100+ degree days. 3 weeks later, still no new ac, and facing another series of 100+ degree days, i purchased this unit for my bedroom. It worked great, keeping my bedroom at a steady 74 degrees despite the outside temp. It was a lifesaver until my central ac was fixed.

Performs Beyond Specs

Square footage in my basement over 800’. This unit is the little train that could. Once I get the room cooled I select Econo Mode and it works like a dream. Remote lets me stay fat and happy on the couch!
