After I pulled the monitor out of the box and removed the protective sheath, I was shocked to see an imprint of the styrofoam on the face of the screen. It had a huge cross and rectangle on the border. I worried that this might be permanent and took a paper towel and began wiping it to see if it would come out. Fortunately all of it came off. So far everything has worked perfectly.
