The Escali DH7 is an extremely useful tool for the home or outdoor cook with the functions of two thermometers in one device. In IR (infrared) mode the DH7 is able to read surface temperatures and when in probe mode can read internal temperatures. The IR mode is great for checking the surface temperature of grill grates, pizza stones or the food you are cooking while the probe mode allows you to check the internal temperatures of the food to make sure they are at temperatures safe for consumption. The folding design of the DH7 allows the probe to fold into the main body of the thermometer, saving space and making it easier to store. The DH7 boasts a backlit display with large numbers that are easy to read in all lighting conditions. The DH7 is a great tool for the home or outdoor cook that would like the ability to check both surface and internal temperatures but would prefer to have that ability in one easy to use product.

Best thermometer ever!!!

This is the best thermometer! It has a rapid read option with the probe and takes much less time than my old one. The option for the infrared is so great. The digital display is easy to read even when it isn’t bright out when I am grilling. I couldn’t ask for a better one!

Great for cooking and food safety

This may be my new go to thermometer for cooking. Starting with the probe, this is a standard probe thermometer. I found it to be accurate when testing on boiling and frozen water and against another thermometer. The longer length of the probe is great when used at my grill, keeping my hands further from the food and heat. The probe automatically turns on the thermometer when turned into the open position and has almost a full 180º The Infrared thermometer is easy to use and I found it great for testing the searing pan. It would also be useful for monitoring food temps in a staging areas. The readings are quick, taken by pointing and holding the IR button, and lock into the display when you let go. The display on the thermometer is large and easy to read. The overall size is also large, so it may be cumbersome for some who have limited dexterity. It uses two CR2032 batteries that were included in the package but were not installed. Overall I would recommend this product

Easy to use! Food was cooked to perfection!

Works amazing! Used it for the first time grilling chicken. The large display is perfect and our chicken was cooked to perfection! It didn’t take long to check the temperature and I felt confident that it was accurate.
