This bake ware set is very nice the lids snap down seal very tight baked a cobbler in the 13x9 let cool went to my daughters house no leaks the silicone wrap kept it from sliding around in the car they are handy to put left overs on refrigerant get it out put in the microwave we just love them

This is to accommodate for the wider lip for the lid. I like the extra room around the lip, keeps my fingers farther away from the hot contents. Makes it easier to carry as well.
