Received the DynaTrap 1/2 acre Mosquito and insect trap awhile back, but the weather has been so rainy, I had not had an opportunity or reason to put it up because of the rain. Took it out of the package today and the trap was fully assembled with bulb installed. It also came with two extra bulbs, so that was a big plus. I was also very impressed with the construction of the trap. Very well made and attactive. The instruction manual include with the trap was very easy to understand and follow. I hung the trap up on my front porch and plugged it in. It started working as soon as I plugged it in. My granddaughter and some of her friends were playing on the porch and after a few minutes they nocticed that the trap was killing insects. After it got dark, I went out on the porch and sat for about 30 minutes to see if the trap was doing the job. I did not notice, feel or hear any mosquitoes the whole time I was on the porch, so I can say the trap was doing its job. Very well please and impressewd with the product.

Great mosquito trap

DynaTrap mosquito and insect trap does exactly that. If there is a mosquito in the area, it always finds my wife and bites her. I set the DynaTrap mosquito and insect trap next to the steps of my deck last night and this afternoon I was amazed at how many bugs that it has already caught (see the pictures accompanying this review.) The instructions say that it can be used indoors or outdoors. The unit is quiet and not very heavy but seems durable enough to be out in the weather. The instructions say to keep this unit running 24 hours. This is NOT a bug zapper. According to the website, it traps the bugs and they will dehydrate and die. When I took the trap off today to see how many bugs were caught, some got away because I didn't wait long enough for them to die. I intend on purchasing a shepherd's hook and placing it near the steps to my deck. The unit also comes with two additional bulbs for attracting the bugs.

Amazed how many bugs were caught in a short time

We've always had serious issues with Mosquitos,wasps, hornets and Yellowjackets, to the point where we didn't want sit outside. We were constantly finding nests in light fixtures, under patio furnitures, etc. We tried sticky traps and other methods to control the bugs, with limited success. Then we got our first DynaTrap. I placed it near our front porch, about 15-20 feet from the porch.

We also followed advice from some reviewers: LEAVE IT ON 24/7. It is only a small fan and special LED light. Plug it in, leave it on, give it a few days...

WOW! What a difference! Now we only experience a couple of Mosquitoes a day if any. Sometimes we'll go several days without seeing any.

This has worked so well for us, we enjoy spending time outside on our porch again.

These lanterns are not magic. You can't just turn them on and expect the bugs to disappear. Turn on, leave on, and they can be very effective.

Mosquito CONTROL

The DynaTrap Mosiquito and Insect Trap is a nice chemical free option to ridding your yard of unwanted flying pests.  The UltraViolet blue light has a nice glow and is not overpowering in its brightness.  The fan does make some noise, but is not too loud to be annoying.  It was larger than I expected.

Seems to work!

I received the Dyna Trap and put it outside under my deck. Three feet off the ground as directed. I turned it on and let it go for 2 weeks. It definitely traps insects!  As you can see the pictures many bugs were caught. It was nice not to have bugs flying around the security lights and popping in when the door is opened. I would like it if this unit actually killed the insects.

Dyna Trap does the job!

We live near the water in FL, lots of noseeums and mosquitos.  Doesn't get rid of all mosquitos and noseeums but it helps.  Takes a little time to work so it's best to put it out ahead of time and let it work for awhile before people will be in the area.  If you set it up exactly when you want it to work it may seem like it's not working. Just takes time.

Helps with mosquito and noseeums

Very convenient portable mosquito trap!  Easy to put together.  Worked well in in a small backyard to keep the mosquitos away and enjoy the evening.    Blue light is soothing but fan is a little loud.

Easy to use but a little noisy

I like that this can be used indoors and outdoors and it comes with replacement bulbs. Easy to turn on and off and easy to clean out since it dries out the bugs. I have artificial grass in my patio, which my dog uses, so flies come around no matter how much I clean / hose down the turf. I put this by my sliding glass door and since then I have not had 1 fly inside my house. It seems like they are not hanging around my patio either. The instructions say to put this far from where you’ll be, but it needs power so I ended up putting it by the door.

Keeps Flies Away

I've just started using the Dyna Trap and appreciate the simple design, how easy it is to turn off/on by shifting the canister on top, and the overall design that will endure the beating sun followed by afternoon showers.  The stability and size of the trap also allows me to set it on the ground without worrying about it tipping over. The Dyna Trap can also be hung from a pole but I chose to set it on a stepping stone next to the house. The biggest downside is how short the cord is (and the fact it has to be plugged in) which limits the location where I can use it.   However, I've found a good location close to the house, but out of the way, and given the range of 1/2 acre, I'm hopeful this will take care of both mosquitos and the even more annoying yellow flies that come out at dusk.

Good design, Safe and Easy to Use

This is an awesome product that definitely works. In just a few days it accumulated a ton a bugs.  The down side of this product is the electricity. The instructions suggest putting it away from where you gather (your patio, pool etc). The problem with that is who has electrical access away from their house? My solution was to purchase a $2 outlet adaptor which allowed me to move it to the end of my home and hang it on a shepherds hook.  I do love the product and would give it 5 stars if it were not for the electricity issue.

Works but requires electricity

I have had this product for about two weeks now. I decided to use it to keep mosquitoes out of my RV. I’m kinda disappointed. It has actually attracted more mosquitoes and now flies. I tried moving further and even closer and no luck. It does attract more mosquitoes to the area than before.
