Launched as Cerveza Cuauhtemoc in Mexico in 1893, reproducing the image of the last Aztec Emperor and Hero. To the generical public it became more convenient to identify the brand by the image of the label than by its name. This soon gained fame, and the brand changed the name to Indio in 1905. Indio is a dark Vienna lager-style beer offering a fusion of golden malt and toasted caramel notes, giving it subtle hints of sweetness and less bitterness.
