They mark the oil's harvest date and best-by date on every bottle for maximum transparency and all of their oil is certified by the Olive Oil Commission of California (OOCC) and the Applied Sensory Panel, which upholds the highest standards for extra virgin olive oil in the industry.
To further ensure maximum freshness and quality, California Olive Ranch bottles the oil in dark green glass to protect it from light (which can degrade the quality of the oil). Great olive oil!
This is a great olive oil: fresh and green-tasting, with that little bit of burn at the back of the throat. So delicious! We have been buying this oil since we first were made aware of it. Back then, it was available in our grocery store - in a smaller quantity, of course! And then for awhile the 100% pure California oil wasn't to be found - it was a blend of imported oils as well. Since olive oil is best when it's fresh, having the imported oils just meant we weren't getting as fresh a product, so we stopped buying it. Once we saw that the pure CA oil was at Sam's, we happily went back to enjoying it!

NOT ‘FAKE'
Most ‘olive oils' purchased in stores are ‘fake'. Perhaps ‘impure' would be a better descriptive term, as most commercially available olive oils are mixed with other unhealthy oils consisting largely with dangerous omega-6 fatty acids… mainly, canola, corn and/or sunflower oil(s). This California Olive Ranch Extra Virgin Olive Oil, it is ‘the real deal'; lots of omega-3s. As of this writing, it is also the most affordable ‘pure' olive oil I've yet to come across. The California Olive Ranch Extra Virgin Olive Oil available via SAMS CLUB's online portal has a ‘grassy/peppery/fruity' taste, and has a slightly tingle or ‘burn' in the throat when swallowing (not overwhelming unless consuming a large quantity at one time) … both are characteristics of a ‘true'/‘pure' olive oil; an EXCELLENT anti-inflammatory food! The only ‘bad' thing I have to report is … like right now … SAMS CLUB is sometimes out-of-stock.

I was very happy to learn Sam's Club was carrying my absolute favorite olive oil and even happier with the great price. It is the only olive oil I need to keep in hand now. 100% California olives. Perfect taste for cooking or in more delicate applications like dressings. I might sound super boring but I don't care, I am telling everyone I know about this find.
