Basil Hayden Dark Rye is an absolute favorite in our household! The rich, smooth blend of rye whiskies with a touch of port gives it an incredibly deep and complex flavor. It’s perfect for sipping neat or making an elevated Old Fashioned.
However, we have no idea why we can’t buy this at Sam’s Club in Marion, IL anymore! We used to purchase it there regularly, and now it’s nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, we can find it at every other Sam’s Club—just not our own. Please bring it back to Marion, IL! We miss having easy access to one of the best rye whiskies out there.

Great Dark Rye

I have always enjoyed Hayden bourbon, so since I was getting a Sam’s Club price, I thought I would try the rye.  

This is very fine sipping rye, smooth but bold. Should not be drank in shots.

Fine Rye Whiskey

Last year  I tried using this in my home made egg nog and after bottling it and let it sit and shaking every few days to keep it mixed we final popped the cork and tried it. Man what a taste. It was smooth and tasty. Better than any other I had tried. It was a big hit. So if you haven’t never tried it in nog you won’t be disappointed.

I like this now I wouldnt drink this straight as a daily ir weekender but it make a great Manhattan and adds depth to an old fashion.. it can be sipped but not my first choice. 4.3

Better mixed then sipped, for me.. try it out.

This is, without a doubt, the worst whiskey I've ever tasted. I didn't realize until I got it home that they decided to add port. It's kind of like adding mustard to bananas. It was like throwing 40 bucks down the drain. I used to be a big fan of Basil Hayden's, but will be swearing it off.
