Assembly

We bought the 16x20 Beaumont pergola a month or so ago and have been so happy with our decision. It shipped pretty quickly and arrived in great condition. We were missing one of the included tools and they overnighted it to us.  Amazing customer service! We would recommend downloading the app for the assembly instructions because you can see the parts/boards in 3d and look at them closer. My husband, my 14 year old son and I worked together to assemble it. It took us a total of probably 8-9 hours or so to complete. My husband actually did the top part by himself or it may have been even quicker. The quality is excellent and we are super happy with how everything turned out!

Overall I feel this was a great value. A well designed pergola at a reasonable price. Assembly was straight forward with clear directions. Did it by my self over a couple of Saturdays could have done it in a 1/3 of the time if I had a helper. Very satisfied with finished product.

Great Value

This pergola is beautiful and assembly went well. The directions were complete and accurate but you need to look at them carefully for the details. It took me alone about 3 hours to assemble the two ends on the ground, and then 4 hours for 3 of us to complete including a couple breaks (it was very hot). We could have done it with two people and one step ladder but it was nice having a third person and 2 step ladders.

Beautiful and just as advertised.

Hi and I'm happy with the pergola. All came out well, I had my son in law and a friend put it together, definitely one needs two persons to do it. I'm in South Florida, where hurricanes are a normal and though we have not been hit by a biggie in a few years, every year we do get one, so we drilled down some sort of anchors and if it comes, we will tighten the poles and some of the cross-bars with adjustable wraps. Finally I will try to paint it with wood protection, Winmax I think it's called, every year. Ah, I'm also going to have a manually retractable Canvas roof built because the sun is burning hence difficult to enjoy in the afternoons. I'm happy and the Pergola is on top of a cement slab in my backyard, not on grass. I recommend it!

New Pergola for BBQing with family and friends.

We bought this pergola from Backyard Discovery and purchased the assembly package with it.  We love it and it was worth every penny to have it put together for us. What took them two hours to put tougher would have taken us days! The guys that did the work were very professional and polite. We even had them come back and put the polycarbonate to on it. Now it's out backyard Oasis!

Great purchase!

We spent quite some time searching for something that truly reflected our taste, yet would stand the test of time. When we finally found it, my husband assembled it with ease (with a little help from our sons-in-law). He finished it with the recommended lacquer, and the result is simply beautiful—better than I had imagined.
He placed it thoughtfully where our two wisteria plants grow, training them to climb and frame the structure. It has created a stunning, peaceful shaded retreat, reminiscent of the Tuscan countryside—right here in NYC.
We absolutely love it and look forward to enjoying it for many years to come.

Absolutely Beautiful!

This is a nice pergola, but I can’t give it 5 stars for the following reasons:
1.  Some of the boards were warped when we unpackaged them
2.  As a result of the boards being warped, some of the holes did not line up.
3.  Written instructions were a little confusing

It is nice and sturdy.  Because we live in Florida my husband secured the legs to a concrete poured base

Hard to put together

I wanted to wait a few weeks before reviewing.  
Overall it it a very nice.  
There are a few areas where you notice the difference between this and a much higher priced item. The long strips on the top are very thin (maybe 1” X 1”), and they are actually 2 smaller pieces joined together.  It feels short - needs a footer to lift it by 1’ to get the proportions right. Glad I opted for professional installation- 2 guys with all the right tools completed the job in a few hours.

14 X 12 Pergola

We are very happy with this purchase except a couple small items. Instructions were very good. One thing I noticed is that the instructions from the BILT app are a little backwards compared to the printed instructions. One would have a board right side up and the other would have it right side down. Fine, as long as you stick to one set of directions. Everything lined up very nicely except for a couple corbels and most of the 2x2's on top. I would say that only 25% of the 2x2 holes lined up, but not sure if there is a way to improve that. Most of the lumber was surprisingly straight except for the 2x2s, especially the posts!

Great value and quite pleased

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] overall it’s not bad , but i should have paid attention to the height . it’s a little shorter than i would like , but the price is great . some of wood was warped so a bunch of c clamps were needed.

a little short and some pieces were warped

We recently purchased this and it was installed on April 16, 2026.  This is cheap cedar and easily splits.  I wanted to hang curtains and it cracked.  The main columns sound hollow and cheap.  I would not have purchased this if I would have known it was like this.  Wasted way too much money on such a product that falls apart and cracks.  Do not recommend!
