WORX 4PC Quick Release Bar Clamp Set

The WORX 4 PC quick release bar clamp set is comparable to other one handed clamps that you will find in the big box store. I own quite a number of different style and manufacturers of one handed clamps and these rank right up there with the best. What's in the box? qty 2, six inch clamps and qty 2, twelve inch clamps. The clamps have a steel bar and the movable jaw slides smoothly on the bar. The handles are a decent quality plastic and the release lever gives enough play to easily move the jaw along the bar without binding. The trigger action of the movable jaw is smooth. I like the fact that the maximum clamping pressure is printed on the jaws (150 lbs / 68 kgs). I used these clamps for various jobs including holding glued boards while they cured and holding a board to my work surface. They worked great without slipping. The fixed jaw is easily removed and can be flipped and moved to the other end of the bar to use in spreading mode. The actual distance between the jaws for the 6" clamp: 6" in clamping mode, 5 3/8" - 11 1/4" in spreading mode. The 12" clamp: 12 3/16" in clamping mode, 5 3/8" - 17 3/8" in spreading mode. The pads are soft but firm and do not dent or mar the surfaces being clamped. Like any other clamps of this style you do not want to drop them on hard surfaces and the jaws can break. I would definitely purchase these again.

This 4-piece Worx Nitro quick release bar clamp set is excellent and I've been happy to add it to my arsenal of tools. It comes with two 6" bar clamps and two 12" bar clamps so you're set for a variety of situations. Both sizes are marked as having 150 lbs of clamping force. You can also quickly transition these to become spreaders with the same 150 lbs of spreading force. I've found that they stay firmly clamped and do not bend or contort under heavy clamping force which is great because I've had other sets in the past (different brand) where the pad (and therefore, the applied clamping force) would sometimes buckle ever so slightly, opening somewhat like a V-shape rather than staying perfectly parallel to one another, when too much pressure was applied. However, that is not the case with these. The only minor criticism I have is that the quick release lever seems to require more pressure to disengage the lock and be able to open/close the clamps compared to others I have used. Could be a good or bad thing. It's not difficult at all, but with others I have used it's much easier to do, especially with one hand.
