When Is Texas Grapefruit Season?

Texas grapefruit is best when picked in November. Some greenhouses in Texas allow you to have access to the tasty, fresh fruit all year long. They are at their peak sweetness during the fall and early winter.

What are the Health Benefits of Grapefruit?

There are many health benefits of grapefruit. For starters, this fruit is high in vitamin C, with just half a fruit containing 78% of your daily value of vitamin C. The antioxidants in the grapefruit help to lower blood pressure and the overall risk of heart disease.

Texas Grapefruits are high in electrolytes and water. Regularly eating grapefruit helps to prevent dehydration.

How Can You Tell Texas Fresh Grapefruit Is Sweet?

Ruby Red Texas Grapefruit is naturally sweet in comparison to other varieties. You can tell that they are at their peak sweetness when the fruit is both heavy and plump. The skin is smooth to the touch and feels as though it is ready to burst when you squeeze it.

Why are Texas Red Grapefruit Red?

Despite Florida being the home of the orange and other favorite citrus fruits, Texas is the natural habitat for the grapefruit. The red variety of this fruit fresh from the orchard dates back to 1929 when an orchard owner found some on his trees for the first time.

Best citrus flavor for any meal or snack!

The most tasteful grapefruit I have had in many years. I was beginning to think stores didn't sell them anymore since they had been so hard to find. These were large sweet and fresh. It's been easy to enjoy a grapefruit daily! Delicious! I will be buying more and hope they will still be in stock.

Exceptional quality. Hope it continues!

The bag I purchased in the previous order was some of the sweetest and best quality GF I have ever had. They were 32ct, slightly larger than the 56ct I've purchased before. I am a retired produce buyer from onceof the largest produce distributors in the twin cities who loves GF!s so that's saying something. I always have GF's in my fridge in the winter starting in December when Texas GF's really leak. Was pleasantly surprised to get those at the end of February. Thx!!

What's not to love?

I segment the whole bag for easy grabbing in salads, cottage cheese or whatever else I will need fresh citrus for.
