Want to make hot cocoa in a crock pot?

I make this every year at an annual family party. Slow Cooker Hot Cocoa ​Ingredients ​3½ cups Swiss Miss cocoa mix 1 gallon milk 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional) 1 cup chocolate chips (optional, for extra rich hot chocolate) ​Equipment ​6-quart or larger slow cooker Whisk ​Instructions ​Start the Base: Pour 1 quart (¼ gallon) of milk into the slow cooker. ​Mix Cocoa: Slowly whisk in 1 cup of the Swiss Miss cocoa mix until smooth. ​Layer %26 Combine: Add another quart of milk and another portion of cocoa mix, whisking constantly. Repeat this process until all milk, cocoa mix, and the optional salt are thoroughly combined. ​Add Chocolate (Optional): If making rich hot chocolate, stir in the chocolate chips now. ​Slow Cook: Cover and cook on HIGH for 90 minutes, stirring occasionally, until hot and steamy. ​Mellow %26 Serve: Turn the heat down to LOW for 30 minutes. Stir well before serving. ​Keep Warm: Switch the slow cooker setting to WARM to keep it ready for serving throughout your gathering.
