Ruffino Riserva Ducale Chianti Classico Red Wine is a complex and deep red wine blend containing sangiovese, merlot and cabernet sauvignon red grape varieties. This red blend is characterized by cherry and red berry fruit notes with delicately spiced hints of tobacco, leather, cedar, white pepper and a touch of flint. Featuring velvety tannins, firm acidity and a lingering finish of rosemary, this chianti wine is well balanced on the palate. <h3>How This Wine is Made</h3> Each bottle of this Ruffino wine is made with a careful selection of the best grapes from the traditional Chianti Classico production region. Secondary malolactic fermentation enhances this wine's velvety texture. Riserva Ducale then ages for 24 months in oak, stainless steel and concrete vats and spends an additional three months in bottle before release. <h3>How to Drink This Wine and What to Eat With It</h3> Pair a glass of this Italian red wine with favorites like prosciutto, mushroom risotto, or chicken cacciatore. The two Tuscan natives still felt certain that much of the area’s greatness had yet to be revealed. Tuscany had good fortune: mineral-laden soils; the cooling influence of the Mediterranean Sea; dry summers that favor wine grapes; and luscious, sun-drenched hills. As word grew about the quality of the cousins' wines, their winery flourished. They honed their expertise, and Ruffino soon became known for clean, balanced wines, adopting the motto “Here, we make ideal wine.” After the Second World War, Ruffino purchased the first of its Tuscan estates, the Villa di Montemasso in the Chianti Classico region. Ruffino continued to invest in new vineyards, becoming one of the first major wineries with vineyard estates in Italy's three most renowned wine-producing regions: Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino, and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Famous for consistency and quality, Ruffino has established itself as a leader in chianti, and Ruffino Chianti has become a global ambassador of Tuscan wines. When chianti first became recognized as a DOCG wine in 1984, Ruffino Chianti DOCG was awarded the first warranty strip. I like this wine so much it is like a staple in my house.  I like Chianti, but this is by far the best Chianti I have had.

 Brilliant ruby red with subtle garnet reflections, a classic look for a well-aged Chianti Classico.

 Balanced and refined. The wine opens with bright red fruit flavors like cherry and raspberry, supported by notes of spice and a slight earthy character. The tannins are smooth and well-integrated, while the vibrant acidity—typical of Sangiovese—keeps it fresh and lively. �

A wondeful Chianti

All time favorite. Pair this with a lobster tail fra Diablo over linguine and I am a happy person. No better wine in my opinion. My father in law turned me on to this wine years ago and I will raise a glass in his memory at least once a year, God rest his soul. Terrific wine. Try it. You will not be disappointed

This is my go-to full bodied wine I pair with lamb, beef, and braised dishes like chicken cacciatore, lamb shanks, Stracotto (italian pot roast with porcini mushroom sauce).  It’s got a rich, chocolate note that goes well with meaty, hearty foods.  I’ve even served it with beef stock soups and stews like minestrone.  You know it’s good when you serve it to French, Italian, and Portuguese friends and they ask where you got it!

The aroma's hint at the earthiness similar to porcini mushrooms, while clearly indicating the concentration of cherry fruit that comes forward on the palate. Youthful, with bright acid lifting the rich texture.  Every time I decide to spend a little more on a bottle this is one of my go to Chianti's.

This is so good! Ruffing is my go to red wine. Just recently tried this red blend and it did not disappoint! My husband and I usually have different likes when it comes to robe and this one made us both happy. Not too dry and not too fruity. The perfect combo

I’m a big Chianti fan and this one is one of my favorites! All Ruffino produces is delicious, but the Chianti Classico Riserva is a definite stand-out - plus, it isn’t that expensive either! You could take this to a fancy dinner party — it really is that good!

I’m a big Chianti

Not my favourite Chianti. It’s generally overpriced for what it is. It’s a basic table wine that is rustic With bitter notes. It’s got a strong flavour and full body. Ok for day to day, I wouldn’t break it out for guests.
