These went on my wife's Tacoma, and replaced the same brand/style that were only down to half wear (8/32nds). She couldn't believe how much better they gripped the road and could feel the difference in the ride immediately.

Definitely the Right Tire for My Truck
I just replaced the Defender LTX M/S tires on my truck after 65,000 miles. There was easily adequate tread to take me to 70,000 miles but with winter coming on I decided to take advantage of the sale local Ford dealers were running this fall and put on a new set of Defender LTX MS2 tires. I figured 65,000 miles without a problem means something and the M/S2 tires are supposed to be a bit better across the board. After having the new tires mounted I had a 2-1/2 hour drive home and it felt like I was driving a new truck; the ride was so much smoother and quieter.
