The Original, Just Larger

When I was young, five-flavor and other varieties of Life Savers could be found at the checkout counter of every convenience store, supermarket, and drugstore. At some point in this century they vanished, replaced by TicTacs (which themselves seem to be getting scarce), Altoids, Mentos, and other hard candies. Happily, bags of Lifesavers began showing up on shelves. I'm not sure I like them as much as the smaller ones in roles, they are still my favorite, and they are economical in large sizes such as this. I keep them in a big candy jar and they never lose their flavor, however long it takes me to work through them.
