DELUXE PLAY & SHADE PATIO SET

We bought this set for our grandson. Wanted to get him the Fisher-Price set our children had (circa 1990), but it is no longer made. Did lots of research and read lots of reviews this set came out on top. It is well made, easy to assemble and sturdy enough for toddler's play. An assembly tip: As others have pointed out, the top attaches to the table legs with 8 screws (provided). There are indentations molded in the plastic where the screws go, but the holes are not started. The directions suggest using a screwdriver to start the holes and drive the screws. I had much better results using a cordless drill with a phillips bit. Use light pressure and slow speed; the screw will turn for a second or two until it bites into the plastic, then quickly drills the rest of the way home. Do not overtighten or the plastic will strip.

I bought this for our family get-together at Thanksgiving. Two 7-yr. olds and a 16 mo. old sat at their "own" table. I found a cute paper tablecloth at Walmart that was full of activities to keep the kiddies busy. They colored turkeys, did word searches, played tic-tac-toe, and connect the dots. The littlest one just enjoyed using the crayons and markers. They loved the umbrella and talked about our family's beach outing this past July. The table was delivered before it was even needed and my sister and I put it together in a matter of minutes, using just a screwdriver and the 4 bolts that were supplied!!! It is durable for small children, will store easily until the next family holiday, and when they come to spend time at Grammy's. It will be great for lunch or supper visits, too!
