Great tire for my track days. I go through several sets a year due to extensive track time and the PSC 2 never disappoints. Grip/Handling/Performance is exceptional on the track.

As mentioned by others, this is a street legal track tire. Don’t expect high mileage given the compound. When at the proper temp they stick like gum! Love it. Expensive, but worth the extra grip in the corners. 4 track weekends and 3,300 miles, they are slicks now. Just not sure how far to go as the wear bars don’t mean much on this type of tire but some holes/dimples on the outer tread blocks would be great to better gauge compound  remaining.

Excellent Track Tire!

It is super obvious that the fellow complaining about the wear on these has no idea about different types of tires and probably hasn't ridden a track a day in his life. The cup 2s are fantastic, i run super sports on the street and then swap over to these on the track and man are they fantastic. No squirm due to the lower sized grooves and they absolutely tear around the corners, pushing 900hp to the wheel there are only a few tires i trust and this set is one of them. I get about 1 maybe 2 track days out of these.

Don't Listen to the guy complaining about wear.....

PSS is a very good tire... for normal roads. On the track, only the Sport Cup 2 is the right tire. I am driving a Corvette ZR1 but my friends are on Porsche and Ferrari. No one is driving with PSS on the track. They all have Sport Cup 2 tires or even slicks. And we are good but only gentleman drivers !... Even a very good sport tire (like the PSS) is definitely not made for the track.

PSS vs Pilot Sport Cup 2

I understand these tires are unidirectional and must be mounted with the large block pattern to the outside (as indicated on the tire).  However depending on which side the tire is mounted on the car, the slashes on the outside of the block will either be slant forward or backward.  Is this correct?  If so, what is the purpose of those slants on the large block?  Would seem like they should aiming the same direction on either side of the car.  Thx in advance.  Anxious to put through paces.

Tread pattern question?

I have a modified Porsche Cayman S that'll put over 500 to the rears, so I went widebody adding RSR-like rear flares and Cup Car LCA's all-around. The car needed grip, and it got it. In the form of the new Sport Cup 2's. I removed the Super Sports, which are an amazing tire. As good as a performer as the Super Sports are, the Sport Cup 2's are that much better. It's like the difference between running a stadium track in a top-of-class pair of running shoes and then slipping on a pair of world-class Olympic caliber track shoes and taking another lap.

The Grip To Rip!

I have never put this much trust in a tire. That being said for on road use they are to sticky to the point they will roll small stones onto your windshield. Hate to look at my rockers. They come stock fro factory. Big rubber. 305/30ZR19. There is always a give and take with this type of tire. Thinking of going to sport pilots and hope for the best knowing the name “Michelin” ? I have a 2019 Mustang PP2 with 5700 miles and pretty well shot. I do not track the car.

Not so street friendly

I've had a few sets of these on Porsches. First on a 981 GT4 and next on my 718 Spyder. To be honest, had I known our they were equipping these on a convertible from the factory, I would have optioned for the no charge downgrade.

I had another GT4 that had a competitor's tire on it. Driven back to back, there were definitely different characteristics. I always described those Cup 2's as 'plinky' as that's the sound they'd make over any bump, even with tire pressures lowered. My wife and I also had similar observations of heavy steering response on the GT4, but I understand the desire for straight line stability in a car that is slated to do 180++ MPH on the track.

There's lots of differences between our previous 981 Spyder and the 718, but my single biggest complaint with the car seems to fall on these tires. The previous generation was equipped with a competing brand's high performance summer tire. Obviously, there was less grip most of the time, but if we got caught in the rain, no big deal. Also, the non-track tires were very predictable making the car a breeze and a pleasure to drive.

I do not track the Spyder... it's a convertible meant for the street in my opinion. Porsche's website has a few warnings added to it now about hydroplaning with the Cup 2's. I haven't had the car in the rain, but if these are similar to the ones I had on my GT4 several years back, they're borderline dangerous in the wet. Also, at lower temperatures (less than 60 F), these are extremely unpredictable. It's hard to criticize a track tire for that, as at the track I would be using tire warmers or at least a few laps before I started to push the car. But, for a street legal car, I can't fathom the purpose of their purpose.

My complaints with the tire fall mostly on how numb the Cup 2's feel with extremely heavy turn in. I feel like there's an extra layer of compound on Michelin tires that make them seem soft and disconnected from the road... almost like your riding on a set of tires on top of a sheet of rubber on top of asphalt. Accompanying this seems to be the heaviest steering I've ever felt in our Porsche's. I noticed the numb feeling with my PS4's as well, but I don't mind it with those considering they are on a daily driven GTI. But for a simple roadster, I prefer to feel the imperfections of the road with nimble steering response.

Unless someone is very competitive in amateur racing, has lots of money to dispose of, or just wants that extra second off of their lap times, I would opt for PS4's or a competitor of the PS4's. 

I want to be on the Michelin bandwagon, but I just can't see what all the fuss and cost is about. The street characteristics really are unacceptable even if you're claiming it's meant for the track. I've run slicks at multiple tracks from multiple manufacturers, and have turned near identical lap times between them for given conditions.

Maybe good for the track, but...

The worst tires to have ever been made never went on a track and only was street driving it in less then 2000 miles the tires went bald I will never run Michelin tires ever again on any of my vehicles horrible experience overall and very pricy for such horrible tires DO NOT BUY THESE TIRES NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

Horrible tires

I have a brand new 2025 Z06 with the Z07 performance package, so comes with the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup summer tires. At 2,400 miles with no track driving and regular aggressive driving (so day-to-day driving, but hitting corners hard, good speed, but no burn outs, no excessive braking), my rear right tire blew out with essentially no warning, other than a slight vibration that started a few miles before the below out.  When I examined the tire, both rear tires were worn completely down to the threads and had split.   I have NEVER had a car where the tires were done with such low mileage and no track driving.  I mean, I have a Tesla Model S Plaid, a Porche 911 Turbo S, and in the past I have owned Vipers, GTRs, and so on, and have never seen this happen to a tire.  I think it is a manufacturing defect.  Michelin refused to cover it under a warranty.  

The last set of Michelin tires I will ever own. Shame.
