To be American Humane® Certified as pasture-raised, hens must be given substantial space—at least 108.9 square feet per hen of outdoor area during the daytime. Adequate space, air and water quality, heating, lighting, shade, and the animals’ ability to engage in natural behavior are all parts of the 200 rigorous standards developed by an independent, credible Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) made up of the world’s leading animal experts. The American Humane® Certified label assures that our pasture-raised eggs follow the highest animal welfare standards.

Recipe: Spinach and Bacon Quiche

What You'll Need:

  • 3/4 pound sliced bacon
  • 1 (9 inch) single refrigerated pie crust
  • 6 eggs, beaten
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (10 oz) package frozen chopped spinach-thawed, drained and squeezed
  • 1.5 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onion

How to Make It:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Place the bacon in a large, deep skillet, and cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain the bacon slices on a paper towel-lined plate. Chop when cool. Fit the pit crust into a 9 inch dish and set aside. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and hot pepper sauce. Spread the spinach into the bottom of the pie crust; top with bacon, Cheddar cheese, and green onion. Pour the egg mixture over the filling, and sprinkle the quiche with Parmesan cheese. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 min or until the top is lightly puffed and browned. Enjoy!!
