ZooMontana cares for over 115 animals of 56 different species, including Amur Tigers, Grizzly Bear, Wolverine, River Otters, Takin, and Canada Lynx among others. Located in the picturesque tourist destination of Billings Montana, ZooMontana offers visitors a unique opportunity to learn about Yellowstone ecosystem fauna through direct observation, interpretive displays, and experiential educational programs. Annually, community and educational programs serve over 15,000 students and over 120,000 visitors, most of whom hail from the northern Rockies.
Explore ZooMontana! Divided into two main regions, the Asia Region includes the Siberian tiger, the red panda, and the wolves, with a cottonwood forest and a nature trail. The North America Region includes grizzly bear habitats, river otters, bighorn sheep, and bald eagles, as well as water exhibits for domestic and wild geese. Visit the Living Wall habitats in the zoo's Discovery Center and you’ll see mink, iguana, chinchilla, tiger salamander, ball python, western screech-owl, rubber boa, box turtle, Madagascar hissing cockroaches, and other lizards, snakes, lizards, anthropoids and amphibians.
The Sensory Garden is where you’ll find native and exotic plants—a popular wedding site! There’s also a Montana native-plant garden and a low-water garden.
