Chianti DOCG grapes are sourced from vineyards in the best-known wine growing areas of the Chianti appellation. This ruby-red blend is 70% Sangiovese plus other red varietals admitted by DOCG codes of production such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. On the nose, it is fruity and floral with hints of spice and hazelnut. On the palate, it is soft with a medium body and nice balance, displaying pleasantly fruity characteristics. It pairs best with ravioli, margherita pizza, beef carpaccio, classic burgers or tacos.
The grapes were harvested during the last two weeks of September. The alcoholic fermentation, aided by racking and punching down, continued for about two weeks at an average temperature of 79°F (26°C) in temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete vats. The wine was then further aged for four months before bottling.
