Gas Range Sizes

Gas ranges come in different sizes but most of these can be grouped into two categories based on their width: standard and pro-style. Standard ranges typically span 30 inches in width, while pro-style ranges measure between 36 and 48 inches. A good tip is to first measure the available space in your kitchen before making a decision. This way you can get the exact fit.

Choosing a Gas Range

Freestanding ranges are a popular pick because they’re easier to install. They’re also finished on both sides, so they can be positioned in different parts of the kitchen. Slide-in gas ranges are another option. They’re designed to fit between the cabinetry for a sleek, seamless finish. If you’re looking to fit a gas range into an existing space within the kitchen cabinetry, or you need a functional complement to your over-the-range microwave, then a slide-in gas range may be an ideal choice.

Drop-in gas ranges are a third option. Similar to a slide-in range, they’re designed to fit into a prepared base while sitting flush with the surrounding countertop. Drop-in and slide-in ranges make an ideal choice if you’re looking to give your kitchen that custom built-in, high-end look.

Oven Capacity

Another major consideration when choosing a gas range is the size of the oven. If you frequently bake or entertain, then a roomy oven is the way to go. Oven sizes are measured in cubic feet. You’ll find options average-sized options spanning approximately 2 cu. ft. to larger ovens that come with almost 4 cu. ft. of space.

Most cooks recommend choosing a 2-cu. ft. gas range oven if you have a maximum of two people in your household and a 4-cu. ft. gas range oven if you regularly cook for four or more. Alternatively, you may want to consider investing in a double-oven gas range, which gives you enough room to cook multiple dishes at the same time.

Dishwashers: The delivery service includes haul-away of your old dishwasher, if it has been uninstalled. The delivery team will not uninstall your existing dishwasher. Basic installation** is included, but limitations apply depending on the installation requirements of your home. Delivery and basic installation** are scheduled separately. Every effort is made to schedule delivery and installation on the same day, although these services may be scheduled on different days.

** Note about Basic Installation: The delivery and installation teams are NOT authorized to perform any modifications to your home, such as carpentry, plumbing or electrical work. Additional fees will apply for any installation work that exceeds the included basic installation service. During your home delivery appointment, the delivery and/or installation team(s) will be able to determine if any additional work and/or permits are required that exceed the basic installation and you will be given a quote before agreeing to additional installation work. You will be responsible for direct payment to the installer for any work exceeding the basic installation.
