What Type of Printer Is Required?

Avery file folder labels are compatible with a laser or inkjet style of printer. After printing your Avery folder labels, you'll have professional-looking labels for your home, business or office.

How Laser and Inkjet Printers Work

Laser printers use a fairly complex process to create the text and images on your Avery file folder labels. Data streams sent from your computer are received by the electronic circuit in the laser printer. Next, a high voltage wire charges up a photoreceptor drum while a laser is activated. The laser beam acts upon the photoreceptor drum to create an image or text that’s printed onto an ink roller. The inked image is then printed onto your file folder labels to create your desired text.

As for inkjet printers, they work by using nozzles within the printer to spray tiny dots of ink onto your Avery file labels. The tiny dots are invisible to the naked eye and form the desired text or image you want to be printed.
