I have owned this a few months now.  I bought this b/c of the dual fuel and electric start options.   I have not needed this in an emergency situation, but have put it through a couple of good tests after the break-in period.  Although this gen will never be quite enough for camping, it is quite enough to use in my back yard or front yark.   I live in San Antonio and kept it out in the sun while using it and never had a problem.   

Everyone that checks the gen out loves the propane option.  Beware that the propane produces less energy.  I spend the money on the ethanol free gass when I need the full power requirement.  

I am giving it 5 stars for this short term use.  I will come back and modify this review in the future.

Great Generator

I took the generator on our camping trip. It was run on both propane and gas. I filled up the tank with gas and then if it shut off in the middle of the night I would  just turn the switch to propane and it would fire back up. It was beautiful not having to hold a flashlight to put gas in the unit. We used it for four days  without any issues

Quiet and easy to start

My contracter told me I would never use it. The night it arrived the light when out and we're out for about 16 hrs. The next morning I asked my contracter I'm not going to need what? I runs great fast, delivery, and great price.

This product goes above and beyond expectations for a small inverter it runs my 30 amp RV power needs with power to spare, very easy starting and being able to use gas or propane is very convenient. I would recommend getting 1 just to have for backup and emergency situations very pleased customer.

Worked As Expected

I really love this generator it's so easy to use it has electric start and it runs on propane or gas I look forward to getting many years service from this generator.

After doing my research and watching all the videos. I bought the dual fuel generator. We have tough winters here in Maine and lose power every so often. I bought the dual fuel generator because everyone has a propane tank for their grill. Plus when the power is out at the fuel pump you mit have to drive into the next town that is about a half hour away. I bought a 40 gallon propane tank for this generator and it runs smooth and very quite. I would recommend this to everyone.

I would recommend

I have my man cave totally off-grid in the foot hills of the Chihuahua Desert on the edge of El Paso County Texas. This is my first Champion product purchase. Minor assembly + oil + regular unleaded gas.  This one has electric start.  I am a Texan hard to impress.  This machine impressed me....  I have ordered another exactly like it. Of course: with extended warranty.

Champion Generator duel fuel.

We made a mistake by buying another brand first and really regretted it.
Opened the box, broken parts, it would never hold the correct RPM.

Returned it and bought the dual fuel Champion electric start. 
Prepped it and started immediately!  Worked like a Trojan.  

Great generator, should have bought it first !  Don't waste your time with anything else.

Best Choice

hmm... not sure how the generator started up, when i had not added fuel to it - but it did start up. Also, maybe due to my inexperience w/ this type of generator, but I thought it was supposed to "throttle" up or down, depending on the power load you are using. This generator didn't change RPMs when I plugged a chord into it. I thought it would/should. Anyway, glad to have it. It's only here to provide power for my two fridges in case the grid goes down.

This generator was nice however it was very heavy and louder than we thought it would be. You can't  used it camping  it's just to loud for that.
