Great hot cup.

I've bought 3 Mr Coffee in the past year. This is the best model, but wish it came with a thermal or metal carafe. I'm using a metal carafe from the 8 cup I bought on sale and it works fine. The 2 hour auto shutoff works well, the non pour function works great when you take the pot off to pour a cup and it is most importantly HOT!

Heating element seems to be melting

We've had it for about 2 years I think - seemed to be working fine but it's been smelling like it's burning plastic the last two times i used it. The heating element has sections of it flaking off. I will be replacing it - disappointed it fell apart this way in a relatively short time.

Great coffee maker

I was given this coffee maker as a house warming gift nearly five years ago. It has been durable and is used sometimes twice daily. My preference is a strong rich blend so the strength settings are a plus. Of course, whenever a friend asks for a brand recommendation, Mr Coffee is mine!!

TWO PURCHSES - neither lasted more than 3 months

I bought the first one about a year ago, one morning after about 4 months stopped working. I always use the programable so coffee is ready when i wake up...nothing like waking up to the smell of fresh brewed coffee right? so I figured maybe just a defective pot. So I bought another one and this morning after only 3 months it stopped working. Same defect? Programable didn't work, but green light was on...when i pushed the button to start I got the same defect as before, it beeped and didn't work. So two purchases in a year is not working for me.

Pros and cons

We bought this a couple of weeks ago and some of the features are good, others not so much. Love the shower head, the basket and the options and for two weeks the coffee maker worked well. A couple of days ago, we noticed water under the pot and on the floor and thought maybe we were filling it too much and the water was coming out of the overflow in the reservoir. That was part of the water problem, but there is also the fact that the brew basket lid overhangs the sides so instead of the steam/condensation going back into the reservoir, when you open the lid to remove the grounds, the water goes down the sides, down the back, on the table, on the floor... We haven't had any problems with the decanter fitting, but it is hard to clean and is top heavy. This morning it brewed about 2 cups and turned itself off. Thankfully we have our old standard Mr. Coffee in our RV, brought that in and we are enjoying a cup as we speak.

This coffee maker has issues

I bought this coffee maker a few months ago. Within a few weeks, it started leaking water on my counters. At first, I thought it was splashing out when we poured water into the reservoir, but after inspection of the unit, we found where it was leaking from. I exchanged it for another one thinking it was just a defective one. Nope. Not even a week after plugging the new one in, it's pouring water out from underneath the coffee maker as well.

nice looking - -questionable reliability

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] received as a christmas gift - -really liked the aesthetics. Carafe somewhat problematic with regards to filling machine with water (spout too shallow, had to have lid on to pour without spilling). coffee was very good but it stopped working after 8 months (would not heat up).

Disappointed, Not the Mr Coffee quality I expected

I replaced a 10 year old programmable Mr Coffee machine that I loved, which is why I wanted to stick with a new Mr Coffee. I read reviews on this new unit and saw very mixed reviews, but decided to give it a try. I am somewhat disappointed. * My first complaint is the length of the cord is only 18". It is barely enough room for me to pull out to edge of counter to fill. The instructions suggest extension cord if needed, but I don't want a 3 or 4-foot extension cord curled up on my counter either. The cord on my old Mr Coffee was 30 inches which was perfect, why cut down to 18"? * The clock is not lit. My old Mr Coffee had a back light on the clock so I could see it in dimly light kitchen. Even with all the kitchen lights on, it is hard to see the grey LCD display. * The handle on the carafe is not very stable, it shifts every time I pick up the carafe and I am afraid it is going to fall off. * The overflow holes on the back are right at that 12 cup line, no room for the slightest variation. Even when using the carafe to fill exactly 12 cups, dumping the water in the holding tank it sloshes around and ends up splashing out of the overflow holes as it fills. I usually use the sprayer from the sink instead of the carafe to fill the holding tank, that creates a lot of waves from the pressure of the water and I have to stop at 8 cups because of the water sloshing around and leaking out of the overflow holes. There should be a little room for variance as in my old Mr Coffee which also had a 12 cup tank, but I never had water leaking out of the overflow holes. Upon looking at my old one, I realized that the overflow holes had room for slight variance and didn't start leaking unless you got closer to 14 cups. * The overwhelming smell of plastic took a while to get rid of. I saw someone in another review complained about their coffee tasting like electric parts, I think they were tasting the plastic resin. I washed all the plastic parts and ran water thru a brew cycle as directed in the directions and it still smelled horrible of plastic. So I ran a second brew thru and it still smelled. I went ahead and brewed a pot of coffee and it tasted like plastic. So I ran vinegar and water thru the clean cycle, then two brew cycles of water. The next morning my coffee tasted better, but still a bit of that plastic smell. After another 2 or 3 days of brewing coffee, the taste has pretty much gone away. Overall I am disappointed because the quality doesn't seem to be the same as my old Mr Coffee unit.

very disappointed.

We bought our coffeemaker about 3 months ago, spending a little more than we wanted to so it would last. I went to make coffee this morning and it beeped as soon as I turned it on, and then did nothing afterwards. Nothing more aggravating than waiting for coffee to find out that nothing is happening. I will buy a cheap coffeemaker today because they seem to last several years. Very disappointed in Mr. Coffee.
