Please know that your health and safety are the most important things we think about at Dawn, and our products are rigorously tested to be safe when used as directed. We wouldn't expect Dawn to impart the of the product taste into food. However, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous, it is possible. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be washed by hand. It might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors.
