Dawn platinum smells terrible!
I don’t know why Dawn now smells so bad. I feel sorry for any animals that have to undergo the stench from the fragrance that have to be cleaned. It doesn’t seem to rinse off very easily either. I thought I might have bought the wrong thing. I never had any issues with Dawn blue until this new platinum. I have sensitivity to fragrance and this isn’t going to work for me. I hope they still make the original, if not it looks like I’ll be getting a different more subtle smelling and less clingy dishwashing soap. I may have to give the rest away. It’s just too stinky and clingy.
We're sorry to hear that a great Dawn fan like you had this experience. We can assure you that our Dawn Platinum Fresh Rain has been thoroughly evaulated to be safe when used as directed. A lot of thought into creating features that we think you'll like, but we certainly understand that preferences can vary from person to person. As well, we do have many quality checks in place to ensure that you can use our products with ease. To help remove the scent from your dishes, you can soak them in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it or run them through the dishwasher (assuming the dishes are dishwasher safe). We'd also like to mention that while we did change the name from Dawn Platinum Refreshing Rain to Dawn Platinum Fresh Rain earlier this year, no scent change has taken place. This was a name change only. Our Dawn Platinum and Dawn Original are two seperate products, and our Dawn Original does continue to be available. We hope this is helpful. We'll make sure that your comments are shared with the rest of our team, and we do recommend that you discontinue use of this particular product if this has been your experience. We offer a variety of scents here at Dawn, so we suggest giving another Dawn version a try if you'd prefer a different scent. This is basically the only dish soap that I will use. It works really well on everything I’ve ever used it on. Doesn’t leave a residue behind on my dishes. I love like this one particularly because it doesn’t have a super strong scent. Definitely recommend.
Works very well, even with a little bit and on the toughest of messes, just as they advertise. Very effective. Cons it can be a little greasy if you use too much, but with a bit of water, you can feel the clean. Scent is alright. Would very much recommend to others.
I cook every day so I love using this. I live out in the country so from time to time I will use it on my dogs as well. It cuts through the grease on your dishes. It kills fleas on your dog. It leaves your hands feeling nice and soft. It’s very affordable.
Horrible smell
The new scent is overpowering and the smell does not wash off easily. The reason I originally switched to Dawn was that the scent was minimal. This scent is awful and gives everyone in our house horrible headaches as we are very sensitive to smells. Most products we purchase are unscented. I have washed my hands multiple times today and the scent is still as strong as when I used the product. Please bring back the original scent as this one will be tossed out after shopping this week.

I love how the smells and how it makes my dishes look and I cannot get over how well it cleans off grease or things that have been sitting on a plate for a few hours, it’s seriously breaks it down better than anything else and I would recommend it to anyone!
Bring back original scent.
I have used Dawn for many years. I’m very unhappy with the “New Fresh Scent” it smells like perfume and lingers on dishes. I’ve been unable to locate the original scent. I’m hoping you will bring back the original scent. If this change is permanent I’m afraid I’ll have to find another brand.

The new scent is HORRIBLE!!
Why did you change the scent??? It smells so incredibly horrible now, I will never buy it again (and I’ve been a loyal customer for over 40 years). I always thought Dawn was the best dishwashing detergent on the market. Not now. If the company wants to keep their customers, change the scent back to the way it was.

New scent is nauseating
I’m not much of a “recommends products to people” type of guy, but one of the few exceptions has always been the dawn platinum for its genuinely superior cleaning ability—it’s something that I am very quick to mention to people and recommend over more expensive products or time intensive home-made cleaners. However. The new refreshing rain scent formulation has made it near impossible for me to keep the hand wash dishes clean in our house lately. The second I flip open the bottle, that pungent perfume makes my stomach churn, and if I was more than two dishes at a time, I unfailingly develop a headache. While I am *somewhat* sensitive to the scents of household products, I can usually just scrunch up my nose in distaste and power through it. The new formulation for the Refreshing Rain scent makes me feel physically ill, though. I’m so disappointed, too. I used to buy this scent because it *didn’t* bother me as much as the papaya or apple. Now I have paid for this huge bottle of soap that I do NOT want to use, which I wouldn’t have even bought if I’d known the scent had changed. If there was at least a sticker on the front or something on the label, I would have smelled it in the store and known to steer clear.

stinky yucky new scent for original dawn
ORIGINAL DAWN - NEW SCENT: I hate the new smell of "original" Dawn. It is awful. I bought a new bottle (not realizing there was a new scent) and after washing dishes, I looked around my kitchen trying to find what was so stinky, something spoiled but couldn't find anything. I even flushed my sink drains thinking there was something down it. I was sad to realize it is the Dawn new scent. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go back to the original scent. I love Dawn. It is my go-to and the only one I buy. Don't encourage me to use your other versions, I just want my original scent back!!!!!!! Please. Thank you.
