As a Dawn user for many years (and a PG stock holder), I’m extremely disappointed with the new scent. It’s a sickening sweet smell and way too strong. Why mess with such an effective, successful product?! I’m seriously considering no longer using Dawn. It’s that bad!

This review is in general. Dawn I have come across so many people posting that Dawn makes their dishcloths and sponges smell bad funky. I never experienced it until recently. I couldn’t understand what was causing the funky smell around my sink. I change my dishcloth daily and put my sponge in the dishwasher so I know they are clean.. I used bleach in the sink and cleaned the garbage disposal but still smelled that nasty smell. Smelling the dishcloth after doing the dishes and it was so unpleasant. What is causing this issue? So many people are asking the same question. I use Dawn in a lot of different ways Dishes, laundry, spot removal, windows because it’s a great product but the after smell is just becoming too much for me. Any suggestions?

I am so sorry I never write poor reviews, but I'm disappointed that I've heard the original scent is going to be discontinued. If I'm wrong about it being discontinued I will update my review. I have been a lifelong user of Dawn Dish Soap, 45 yrs plus. The main reason I stuck to this brand was the original left almost no smell, and as a kid it was advertised as good for the birds during oil spill cleanup, so a better more natural way to clean. When you ate food off dishes the food smelled like food. This new version leaves a smell on my dishes and hands, now when I eat my food all I smell is the fragrance. I guess I'll be sticking with it's expensive alternative of apple, which has less of a lingering perfume smell. Or I may need to find a new dish soap. Really hoping they change their mind and continue to carry the original version too.

Simply cannot tolerate the smell. Took me a couple of days to realize that it was actually the dish soap since I've used Dawn for years but the first time I used Dawn platinum. Not any more. Gave the two bottles I purchased away. The smell literally stays on the dishes. Will not buy again

I could not figure out where the offensive smell was coming from when washing my dishes. I thought it was mildew in my drain. I finally figured out it was this product. It smells different in the bottle than it does once it mixes with water and goes down the drain. The middle note of this fragrance is especially offensive, at least to my nose! The smell gave me an instant headache and sore throat. I thought there was mold or some additive in the water! Horrible. Felt like I was being poisoned. Sorry, Dawn, but that's the truth.

This is the only dish soap that I have ever found that actually helps to clean greasy messes. It is also nice to use as a pretreatment for greasy laundry stains. I have also found another use for it that works. I mix about a tablespoon of dawn and white vinegar in a spray bottle and use it in the shower daily to prevent hard water stains and soap scum build up.

This product is amazing for the removal of oil in the pots and pans and I love it. I buy it all the time and I just love that it leaves all my dishes looking nice and clean and most importantly grease free. Price is affordable and I will continue to buy this product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using Dawn Platinum ever since it came out on the market. I especially love the Power Clean. This is truly a remarkable product. The cleaning power is unreal. No other dish detergent compares. A little goes a long, long way ! Really cleans the dishes fast with less scrubbing. I can put some in the dish water and immediately they are ready to wash....Hardly no scrubbing. Excellent on baked on food. Thank You for allowing me to do a review. This is the only dish liquid on the market today that I will purchase ! It's easy on my hands as well as being powerful !

This was my favorite detergent and have been using it for years but the new scent is horrible and reminds me of a bathroom air freshener, I will have to find a new soap because I can’t handle the smell. The old scent was amazing and I’m sorry they changed it.

I have used Dawn for a very long time. Recently I purchased two 825 ml bottles and much to my surprise found the scent had changed to something similar to those nasty bargain brand laundry detergents. I can't stand to use it. Of course I no longer have the store receipt so I guess I'm out of luck trying to get a refund. WHY ISN'T THERE A BIG LABEL ON THE PRODUCT STATING THAT THE SCENT HAS CHANGED????
