Cleans great, smells terrible
I have been using Dawn Platinum religiously for nearly a decade. It cleans the best hands down, then one day I buy a new bottle of fresh rain scent and you know what, it smells completely terrible. So bad that it actually makes me feel ill. Then I try other scents hoping to still be able to use it. Lemon, terrible! Jasmine, less so but still terrible! I finally found one scent (Green Papaya) that was ok and I could handle. Now I can't find it anywhere, so I came here just to find you don't list that scent anymore as it must have been discontinued. Why? Who knows but now I'm stuck with the terrible scents and it appears I am not alone. If you can handle the assault on your nasal cavity then I would recommend it, but give it a sniff at the store because for most people I know we've stopped using it because it smells so bad.

Terrible new scent
I’ve been using Dawn for years to clean everything from dishes to litter boxes to bathtubs. I recently bought a new large bottle as I get the refill size and the new scent is terrible! I don’t know what changed from the last time I purchased maybe a few months ago, but it does not smell like regular Dawn and the new scent is off putting and unfortunately will be switching brands.

The new scent will make you gag
If I could give the new scent negative stars, I would. If you have scent sensitivity, it’s best to find a new brand. The new scent will make you gag. It will also leave a nasty taste if you wash anything that is potentially porous. This includes reusable straws, reusable containers or anything not glass/ceramic/steel. Buckle up for nasty tasting everything! Original scent is supposed to be original, not “new original.” Like did some remedial person decide that the word original means something new? You can definitely add new scents, but don’t try to replace something tried and true with something new and gross. When I was dishes, I’d like my dishes to smell like soap, not some old lady’s perfume.

We want to make sure you're referring to the correct dish soap, as there's been no scent change for Refreshing Rain. The only change that's occurred regarding this soap, since 2022, is the name of the scent. We dropped the "Re" and kept the rest, naming it, "Fresh Rain". Whichever dish soap you purchased, please be assured that we thoroughly test all of our ingredients for safety before we use them in a product, and this is not something we would expect. Safety is our top priority and based on what you shared we do recommend discontinuing use of this Dawn. Dawn has been a go-to in my household since I was young. It is for sure tough on grease and oil and gets the job done. Without a doubt I will always be purchasing dawn dish soap products. Helpful tip, it also helps with flea problems on your cats and dogs if you bath them with Dawn. It also leaves them with a fresh scent.
Strange scent
I am a loyal user of regular Dawn, I love it's grease cutting properties and it has been my favorite dish soap for many years. I recently purchased the Dawn Platinum refreshing rain scent. Although it cleans well, it has a horrible scent, I thought there was something moldy in the kitchen, it took me a while to realize it was the dish soap!

Great grease cutter terrible new smell
I have always bought dawn platinum to use around the house for everything from dishes to cleaning ice chests I loved the original sent of the platinum and how it cleaned but now the new sent is terrible and lingers on your hands and anything you clean they need to bring back the original platnum sent until then I’m using a different soap

Horrible odor
This product smells like strong chemicals and the odor lingers on my dishes even after thoroughly rinsing. This can’t be healthy! I’m tossing out my newly purchased 90 ounce bottle. Be sure to take a sniff in the store before purchasing so you don’t waste your money like I did.

How can soap smell so bad?
While I like the cleaning power, the scent is so overpowering and off-putting (wet cardboard and dirty socks is how my husband poetically phrased it) that I am switching back to my old soap as soo as possible. Of course we got the huge Costco-sized bottle so that will be a while. Really disappointed as this made an already unenjoyable household task so much worse

Works well, smells awful!
It works well, but the fragrance is terrible! Please make an unscented version or re-work this. I don't want my dishes and pans to smell like flowers, either. Mrs. Meyer's has a good thing going with their herb-based scents. Perhaps you would consider something similar, or as I mentioned before, unscented would be fine, also!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used regular dawn most of my adult life,until you came up with wonderful smelling,dirt,and grease removing,long lasting,reasonably priced,gem of a product,which I might add the name says it all!! (Dawn Ultra Platinum){refreshing rain scent} I will never skimp on this,when you are the Best ,there will never be another!!
