We LOVED our purple mattress at first and it was the answer to a good nights sleep. It did everything it promised to do. But now that we have had it for 6 months both my husband and I are waking up With the WORST back pain and body aches we have ever had. We actually can't get through a full nights sleep without waking up to aches and pains that keep us up. We have changed nothing in our routine or sleeping habits that would attribute to this other than the mattress. I am very aware that it is the mattress specifically because I travel for work and sleep on hotel beds that I wake up from and feel 10 times better (which should NOT be the case). My sore back actually goes away when I travel and comes back when I come home and sleep on the purple mattress. We feel like we have gotten scammed or at the very least bought too prematurely and should have let the company figure out the kinks before investing in their product. We are so uncomfortable and filled with so many aches and pains that we are going to have to purchase a new mattress after just 6 months, what a waste of ~$1200. With being such a new on the market product they should have given more than 101 day guarantee, understanding that there are tons of unknowns since the product hasn't been used by the general public yet. we purchased 2 twins to make a split king along with sheets and mattress protectors. Everything arrived quickly. We already had the pillows. We have had the mattresses a little over a month. These beds are truly temperature neutral and very comfortable. Previously, we had a 4-year-old pillow-top queen. Hot and lots of motion transfer. I am a restless sleeper and he is a hot sleeper. This is the original Purple mattress, as we cannot get the new versions in Canada. This mattress is firm but soft- it's a bit hard to describe. I sleep both on my sides and back. The mattress protectors do have a bit of a plastic sound but i don't think you can get away from that if you want to keep the mattress clean (i have my coffee in bed in the morning along with my two boxers. Not always a serene experience). The sheets, which i got as a promotion with the purchase of a mattress, have a few issues. First, the good: they are very soft and silky and quite cool in the heat. The elastic on the fitted sheet is truly hard core. That bottom sheet stays on all night. Now, the not so good. They pill, even when washed alone and on the delicate cycle. As well, top sheet is really, really long and really, really narrow. So narrow that it tends to wrap around me. I think these mattresses need stretchy jersey sheets to realize the comfort of the mattress, but they need a bit of a re-work. This bed system is truly unique. If you are looking for a new bed, this is worth exploring. I thought i would miss the cushy pillow top. I am not a big person and do not have a lot of body fat. This bed supports my hips and my lower back without engulfing me in lots of top padding, which ends up being hot in the summer and fluffy padding is not really supportive. Overall, we are very pleased with our purchase and would (and have) recommend this mattress.

I never thought I would be able to afford a bed that could give me the sleep that purple does. No more aches and pains for my old mattress. And the sheets and pillows are definitely things to consider getting as well. Having it all makes it even better. Only problem I have is the king size pillow cases are too big for the purple pillow, but other than that amazing.

I've had my Purple mattress for about a month now - I haven't slept so comfortably in years!! I was waking up with back and hip pain every morning with my last mattress, the inner spring type. I haven't had hip pain since the very first night with this new mattress, and my back pain disappeared after about a week. I was also worried about sleeping hot with this mattress, and it's actually the opposite - I have an extra blanket because it's so much cooler than I'm used to!! I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

It is close to week 3 of sleeping on my Purple mattress and I'm on the fence about keeping it. Some of my aches have been alleviated and the pressure point alleviation technology of Purple seems to be working, which is great. However, the mattress just doesn't really feel comfortable. It has a firmness that you just don't "sink" into or get very comfortable in and what I can only describe as somewhat of a "clinical" or hospital bed type feel. At time it feels like my feet are "floating", however, this may be due to the pressure point alleviation tech. Another issue I had was with Purple's customer service. I signed up to receive updates regarding my order via Facebook Messenger and during this process I sent Purple several messages about the status of my mattress (as it took almost a month to receive) and only received automated responses. If you indicate that you are going to provide customer service through any channel, then you should support that channel, otherwise, please do not offer it! After getting no response, I called Purple directly and they claimed there was a staffing issue with their FB Messenger support, however, when I checked Purple's Facebook page, I noticed that someone from Purple was responding almost instantly to everyone, and I mean EVERYONE that had an inquiry or concern. If it had not been for this, I may have given Purple 4 stars. Also, it was apparent to me that they are understaffed and their lead times for mattress delivery were longer than I expected.

With some reviews saying they needed a few nights to adjust to the feel of the bed, and the material, we wondered how our first night would go. Absolutely no problems! My husband has had 3 shoulder surgeries, and has slept with a pillow between his arms to keep his shoulders open for years. On this bed, from the first night, he needs no pillows. The pressure on his shoulders, as he's a side sleeper, cause him no pain. The bed truly does support without discomfort. Not too firm as some reviews said. Its perfect for us!

For 28 years I slept on a soft side water bed. It was time to replace it and I wanted to upgrade to an adjustable base. My search sent me looking at memory foam and latex, with springs never an option since my last spring bed was around age 9 or 10. I accidentally discovered Purple, and I am glad I did. I was worried how well I would be able to sleep on such a big change. Starting the first night and now after 2+ months I have slept very well. The mattress has met all of my expectations.

First, I don't usually right reviews unless I'm extremely dissatisfied or extremely satisfied. it's important to understand that there could be other mattresses out there that would have given me the same result. I don't know and I will probably never find out because I'm NOT buying another mattress brand for a very long time. I bought my mattress in October 2017. The reason why I was interested in a new mattress is because the 2-year 'new' mattress that I had was giving me back problems. They weren't severe back problems but every morning I would have to stretch before leaving the room or even going to take a shower. The pain was gradually getting worse over the course of maybe a year or a little more. Additionally, I had injured my knee playing basketball in late 2016. Considering my age (early 40's), I thought my knee and back pains were mostly due to aging. I figured my body wasn't as capable at repairing itself through the night like it used to. In late 2017 my knee pain was getting much worse to the point where I had to ice it almost daily and had to undergo physical therapy 2-3 times per week. I continued to play basketball on it which didn't help at all (but I love the game...so I'll play until I can't play anymore). Physical therapy would help a little but it would still swell and some days I could barely walk up and down stairs. What does this have to do with the bed? I researched mattress for more than 6 months before deciding on trying Purple. I thought if I could reduce the back problems maybe it would help me isolate the knee issue I had. This is the part were you won't believe what happened and you'll wonder if this is even a real review. It took only one week and my back and knee problems significantly decreased (almost completely gone)! My legs had a very strange, uncomfortable tingling sensation for the first 5 days. I was close to just returning it because it was so uncomfortable. But by the end of the first week, my body had acclimated to the bed and I've been sleeping well ever since. It's been over 3 months now and I absolutely love the bed. I do have some issues side sleeping or sleeping on my stomach on occasion but I think it's because I don't sleep on my side as much and I haven't adjusted to those positions yet. I'm not going to say this bed is for everyone, but for me, it's been life changing! I can play basketball once again at a level I haven't played in 10 years. I can get out of bed and go straight into any activity without doing stretch routines. Almost all of my knee pain has gone away. What's left of the pain is due to the original injury with a small tear in my meniscus. I recommend this bed to anyone! Particularly, if you are athletic, in your late 30's to early 40's and suffer from unexplained back pain every morning, this bed is for you! Just like Purple says, make sure you give yourself time to adjust as you'll likely experience a different kind of pain (or uncomfortable feeling) in the first few days or possibly weeks. And with the 100 days return policy, you can't go wrong! Also, I purchased their pillow and power-base. My wife and I love the power-base! The pillow works for me (not life changing) and doesn't work for my wife (note - the pillow is heavy and shouldn't be used for pillow fighting with your kids; unless you're punishing them for bad grades or not cleaning their room). I can't say that this mattress is any better in quality than my mattress prior to my purchase of the purple mattress. I have noticed with The Purple Mattress that I am waking up more frequently in the night than I have with my previous mattresses. I know that The Purple Mattress is firmer than I was led to believe watching the commercials and from the reviews. The plastic gel doesn't allow for body heat to be dispersed and I know that is why I am waking up more frequently. I don't believe that I made the best choice buying this mattress over a competitors and I wouldn't try out Purples more expensive products. I am not convinced they are an improvement from my experience with The Purple Mattress. One positive is I don't feel my spouse move and change positions, but this is a feature that isn't unique to the purple mattress. The only unique feature of the purple mattress is the packaging the mattress comes shipped in.

I'm a side sleeper and came across this mattress that seemed like it would be the perfect fit for me to avoid my arms "falling asleep" and me waking up in the middle of the night with them numb and tingling. However, it seems that this mattress, for me, was worse than my Tempur-CLOUD mattress I already owned. I had hoped that it would be a step-up, but it sadly was not. They are honoring their money back guarantee, so kudos to them for that. At best, I can only give this a 3 Star as it just wasn't the solution for my sleep needs, but it is definitely worth a try if you don't own a Tempur-CLOUD mattress!
