I'm mostly happy with the program, but it needs continued development and I experienced a glitch that prevented me from e-filing. I think the sections that handle costs for rental properties and taxes on foreign investment income could use more thorough help explanations or field definitions. I had to circle through those multiple times to figure out why I wasn't getting the deductions or credits I expected. The system also refused to accept the payer zip code that was scanned in directly from a 1099, and for that reason wouldn't let me e-file but required that I file by mail. I also resent the flood of attempts at the end to get users to add on other margin enhancements for the publisher. People who aren't careful reading through all the check boxes will end up paying additional fees for various forms of insurance or early payment options.

I am ready to file today by exile and noe you tell me I need to mail in my West Virginia taxes. I could. Of printed them and sent them in 2 weeks ago when they were done. Now I have too try and print them and send them in. I will not be doing the state with turbo tax again.

I have used TurboTax for years, but this new software is awful. There were times when I couldn’t go in to edit things and I had to get out of it and come back in it. It didn’t Automatically asked me for Social Security income. I had to search for it. No longer keeps tabs while you’re going through the forms as to what your. anticipated refund or The amount due is. Paying $80 is definitely not worth it and it will be the last year that I use TurboTax. It is no longer user friendly.

I'm a CPA; if you pay to have your taxes done, Turbo Tax is what they use. Save yourself money and do it yourself. Turbo Tax helps you every step of the way and has side bars to explain each step, if you need it. If you know nothing about taxes and have never filed on your own, you will be amazed at how easy Turbo Tax makes it and you will wonder why you ever paid someone to do your taxes.

Was easy until I got my Robinhood info added for my PA state return, difficult locating info being requested to provide. Smaller worksheet type boxes with not a lot to indicate what was really wanted. Usually I can just enter/up load my documents & that's it, no extra things to fill in. So other than that it was great. Had only one hangup with the entry of my 1099-R info; didn't repeat my gross distribution number into the State Distribution box (16), so it failed to accept the return because box 14, state tax withheld was larger than box 16. After talking to the TurboTax help agent, I corrected this and return was accepted.

Your pricing structure is not as affordable as advertised, particularly for individuals seeking your so-called "free service." Unless a filer has extremely simple tax information, the service is far from free. Additionally, the $40 fee to pay with a refund adds an unnecessary financial burden. Charging individuals to file taxes—especially those with limited financial resources—feels unreasonable and counterproductive.

Fed tax worked fine. There are problems with at least the NM state tax program. the SW claimed that there were two problems with the state return that needed to be fixed. (I am pretty surethat was not true) When I tired to deal with it there was no way to access the relevantste forms

Overpriced, app is confusing. Have to pay an arm and a leg to get help. I think my return is inaccurate, but I gave up because it's far too difficult to know where to go to fix it. Hoping next year I can use something other than turbotax. I cant afford my taxes and I have to pay $200 just to file? And for some reason you say I gotta pay $465 to federal but I'm getting a $171 refund? Makes no sense! I can't even begin to guess where it went wrong, but I give up. Don't know how I'll afford food, utilities probably getting shut off. All because I for some reason have to pay $171 extra to federal just to get it back later, which doesn't help me right now.

The software is very easy to use. I submitted my taxes but was missing the the 1095 form. Unfortunately the software was unable to see that I needed it. I did not have this form from the previous year. Once I got the rejection it was easy to fix and refile.
