Could be better

I found it difficult to determine what I had already completed and what I hadn't entered yet. Also, I had to enter each of my rental properties separately. If I could at least view them together, it would be easier to catch an error where I read the wrong value from my Excel records and transposed the value from the wrong property.

Turbo Tax is Average just like its competitors

The product needs to be simplified for individuals that are not tax savvy. I have to google to many terms. Everything is an extra cost. you lure people in saying FREE, but nothing is actually free. H & R refunds were more, however Turbo tax allows information to populate from previuos years which is simplified.

Hidden charges shown after 99.9% of work compete

When I was ready to file my return and authorize payment, I got to a page that mentioned Premium Service for $44. I went back and forth several times to try to understand if I was going to be charged this extra amount. I called my wife over to look at that page and subsequent pages to see if she thought I was agreeing to an extra charge. She couldn't tell either. I was looking for an option to say I didn't want it, but there was none. I eventually hit "confirm". Twenty minutes later when I was ready to file, I saw for the first time the total TurboTax was charging me. It included the cost of the "Premium Service" which I didn't want. But it was too much of a pain to go back and redo everything so I let it go. Actually, I figured TurboTax was going to charge me for that because of the ambiguity of the information about Premium Service. I knew I didn't want it, but I could see no way to move forward without checking the "confirm" button. Everything in the Turbotax documentation is clear enough except for that part. It obviously is put there without clarification and without the ability to decline it. I tried hard to indicate that I didn't want it, but there was no obvious way to avoid being charged for something I didn't want.

Pros and Cons

Pros: step by step procedure is OK, sometimes tedious. Carryover of information from pervious year is nice. Comparisons from year to year is helpful. Cons: Consent forms and consent language is indecipherable, Sadly there does not appear to be any other way to electronically file taxes.

too expensive for little support

every year i have to deal with the state tax confusion. we are a military family, and my spouses should be exempt because we are away from our home of record. but every year this system tries to make us pay state taxes. they continuously update the look of this site, but honestly how hard would it be to just add a dang "military spouse away from home of record and exempt" button. instead of having us struggle with the non-sense. The worst part, if we want to ask just that one question, we had to upgrade for $150 just to ask that one question. a complete sham, its predatory

Works, but is annoying

Constant attempts to sell unwanted additional services is nearly a deal breaker. This must stop. Also, many financial statements could not be downloaded and had to entered manually. The final process of review and filing was very straightforward and worked well. Overall. Your program used to be more user friendly.

Reliable, User-Friendly & Stress-Free Tax Filing!

TurboTax is truly a fantastic product! It makes filing taxes so much easier and stress-free. The step-by-step guidance ensures that nothing is missed, and the explanations for each section are clear and easy to understand. 🛠️📄 I love how user-friendly it is and how it helps identify deductions and credits you might not realize you qualify for. 💰✅ The product feels reliable, and the peace of mind it provides is invaluable. 😊👍 I highly recommend TurboTax to anyone looking for a straightforward, efficient way to handle their taxes.

Turbo Tax is NOT free

I find turbotax to be deceptive. You go online and look up different tax programs and turbotax says they a free...TURBOTAX is NOT free. Don't be deceived. Even very basic taxes like mine, they find a reason to make it cost $100 for a federal refund. And then they tried to find every way possible to get more money from you if you aren't paying attention. Do not use your refund to pay the bill that shouldn't be there, they will try to charge you $40 more. Stay alert because all they want your CASH.

Too Pricey

Helpful but costs too much despite my tax documents being fairly simple. Total charged was $215.18 including tax for a young childless, single filing apartment renter with not many assets... I'm not sure how the program forced me to use the Premier version. Not sure my tax needs really needed that version of turbotax. I guess the only extra forms I had were regarding HSA account/ high deductible health insurance plan, my student loan paid interest statement, and savings account interest statements. On a positive, it's an easy filing tax program to follow.
