Light and easy on the eyes
Light weight and display is easy on the eyes
I haven't owned this laptop for very long but so far it runs well. It is a little bulky though and the battery seems to die/go down a bit fast. I've adjusted the bright side in hopes it'll help with that and will need to explore the battery settings, so hopefully I can make some changes and it won't die as quickly. The 2 year manufactures warrant was very confusing because Asus says they only offer one year of warranty. I found out after the 1st year you have to contact Sam's Club if you need to file a warranty claim and they will work with Asus (so it's basically 1 year provided by Asus and 1 year provided by Sam's club). The accidental damage protection that is advertised is also confusing because once you register the device it shows you don't have accidental damage protection. However after contacting Asus they stated it is effective even I can't see it and to call them within the 1 year if I need to file an ADP claim. Other than all of that I like the backlit keyboard but it's only on when I first turn the laptop on, I thought it would remain on but maybe I need to adjust some type of setting.
Nice computer
I’ve only had this computer for a few weeks and am very satisfied with it. My nephew, who is a recent college graduate in nuclear engineering, gave me a thumbs up before my purchase. That was good enough for me
At first, my intention were to find a bargain laptop and thought I found it with this Asus Vivobook. Initially, the price was right for the components and features. This pc performed its basic functions and gets the job done and it should've been enough. But, eventually I just couldn't bring myself to tolerate that TFT screen display's lack of quality. I thought I could live with it but upon comparing an OLED version of another Vivobook, it was apparent that I will need to shell out a bit more. Specially at the thought of staring at the screen of my new laptop all day for many years. TFT display was just inferior compared to the OLED display. Sure, TFT is durable and cheaper but at the cost of lower quality viewing. TFT uses a constant backlight, making it brighter which appears generally hazy and struggles to display true black or dark background. OLED pixels are self-emissive, providing superior contrast, deeper blacks, better color, faster response times, and higher energy efficiency for dark content. The stark difference was hard to overcome. I ended up returning this pc for a small difference in cost against the OLED pc. Which at the time was also on sale and had better features overall at a major discount. This realization was worth it just for the sheer of avoiding the dreaded "buyers remorse" syndrome.

Major design flaw
It's a great laptop, beautiful screen and colors. This thing has a major design flaw. The speakers are underneath the laptop. I was playing a video in bed and I was wondering why the sound was super low. I lifted the laptop and could then hear. Asus created a decent laptop and then screwed it up, they need to fire the engineer that decided to do this. I don't normally return things, but I have to return this laptop. A laptop is designed to be portable and almost everyone I know use their laptops in their bedrooms. It sucks because I got it on sale.
Dear Harvey,

Thank you for your comment.

We do understand your disappointment with the laptop and the inconvenience this may have caused if the internal speakers are underneath the laptop. This speakers location were designed to function as " down-firing speakers. When the laptop is used on a hard surface (like a desk), the sound is intended to bounce off the table to create a wider, more immersive sound, rather than firing directly at the user. Additionally, the primary focus is maximizing limited internal space and complex internal wiring and assembly.

Should you need further assistance with the product, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than happy to help.
