Well worth the money!

I read other reviews talking about how "noisy" this unit is, and I can tell you that's NOT the case for me. We've had 4 different units over the years prior to this one, and this is by far the most quiet! This unit is also the most powerful we've ever owned (14,000 btu's), and it's living up to the expectations! It keeps our entire main floor cool. Our house is about 3,300 sqaure feet, so the main floor is approximately 1,100 sq ft. That's MUCH MORE than the 550 sq ft It's rated for! It's currently 97 degrees outside, and it's a comfortable 71 in here! It's only been a few days so far, but we're more than pleased!

Poor design

Exhaust tube is badly designed. It is difficult to connect to the unit and the part that is in the window

Caveat Emptor

I bought this to augment my central AC on hot days and as a backup if the central failed. What I didnt know is that it draws room air to exhaust for cooling the compressor, which means outside air must be drawn from other places, vents/doors/windows, bringing outside hot air in. Every time I turn it on while my central air is running my thermostat temp begins to rise about 2 degrees every hour, so its useless as an augment to my central air. Im very disappointed and I cant return it because to box was discarded. The description show mention this. Caveat Emptor

It's noisy and hot!!!

It's July in California so it's over 100 degrees today but this unit can't keep up if it gets over 90. (It's over 80 in here and it's set to be 71.) I have a room that is exactly 400 square feet with no dividers. I even insulated the exhaust properly. Plus it's not even quiet. I think it's the vents on top of the unit that vibrate but it makes it really loud you can even feel the noise.
