Best Salsa Ever!

This is the ONLY salsa I buy! Having tried numerous brands and finding them either sweet, too much like tomato paste in water, or just plain terrible-tasting, I tried Herdez and was immediately hooked! It's excellent! I don't like real spicy salsa, so the mild is perfect for me. I like that it's all natural, no impossible-to-pronounce chemicals. I just introduced my brother to Herdez salsa and he raves about it. Well done, Herdez! May your company prosper for a long time to come!

Excellent Flavor but Lacking Heat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Herdez Salsa Casera Medium has excellent flavor but lacking heat for "medium". All the ingredients used taste really fresh and overall this salsa is quite good. However, is no where near as spicy as other Herdez medium sauces are. Namely the medium guacamole, this honestly tasted more of a mild. Other that, it's great and I could eat it all day. Most certainly would share with friends and family and buy more in the future.

Ruined!

For years and years I loved Herdez Salsa Casera. I would NEVER buy any other brand. No more! About two years ago or so, I noticed that the salsa had gotten "watery". It lacked its old coherence that made it so edible. Then I started to notice it had other consistency problems and reading the label, gone were Serrano peppers, replaced with just "chili peppers". That is the problem I think, they changed the formula and substituted chili peppers for the Serranos. Please bring back the original recipe or I'll have to look for a new favorite!

Great taste

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love salsas with my tacos, burritos and burrito bowls. I use this one by itself or mix with salsa verde. I like spicy foods, but this mild salsa tastes great and I don't need more spicyness. This one tastes great!

Always in our pantry

We always keep this in our pantry because you just never know when chips and salsa are going to be a good idea. We will never buy Pace again. I have even started adding Salsa Casera to other sauces like spaghetti sauce and other tomato dishes and it's excellent! We love it.

After recipe changed.

I decided to try using your product again after a long wait and can't help but wonder........ After all the complaints of recipe change, you have tried cover up the bad taste by adding more salt, now that is the only thing you taste. Why can't you simply go back (3 or 4) years to recipe without the citric acid?

Very Good House Salsa

This was my first purchase of the Casera variety from Herdez (love the salsa verde). Tostidos tried to make a 'restaurant-style' jarred salsa a few years ago, and this is clearly what they were trying to emulate. Super fresh-tasting goodness from a jar! Table salsa is supposed to be a little watery, so some of these comments are just completely uninformed. I could drink what's left after dipping straight out of the jar. (Though It's also great for cocktails and many other uses.) No sugary taste, no tomato paste, no acidity. This blows every jarred salsa in the chip aisle out of the water. Stick with the Latin section salsa like Herdez, and you'll always be on point.

Simple with a Little Heat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Similar to Herdez Mild salsa it is thin with a noticeable amount of thinly sliced vegetables. It definitely had a little heat that I could taste on the back end. I enjoy the flavors and still needed to add a pinch of pepper to taste. It is decent for a jar salsa and doesn't have an artificial taste. I would recommend this salsa if you want a tomato based salsa that is spicy. I received a sample of this Salsa through BzzAgent in exchange for my authentic opinion.)

Freshness in a bottle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This salsa you can definitely taste the freshness and all the vegetables goodness in it. No artificial taste or junk in it. It's a bit on the sour side because of the lime in it. Wished it wasn't so watery n maybe can be more flavorful. I use it to add to my stew, soup, etc... The possibilities are endless! It's not spicy at all for us, even the kids like it! We shared it with our neighbors too n everyone loved it.

Very disappointed

Loved the Salsa Hot for many years (I used to be a Pace Picante lover), however the last jar I bought became moldy before I was able to finish it. Not sure what happened but I had to waste a 1/2 jar because of that.. So I went back to Pace. Mainly for the smaller jar, because I guess I am not eating it fast enough!
