Ease of operation

Ready to go right out of the box. The wheels and built in handle for the unit are well designed for facilitating moving it around the room. The built in handle on the water carafe make emptying it easy. Really pulls a lot of water out of the air in a short period.

Quiet workhorse!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace a competitor's unit that had begun leaking into the carpet of our finished basement (with office) before I realized it was doing so! My old unit was also so noisy I had to turn it off whenever I wanted to use the phone (which is often!). This model is much quieter and I keep it running 24/7. I no longer have to get up from my desk every time I want to make or receive a phone call.

Low Noise

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Frigidaire 50 Pint Dehumidifier that I purchase about 3 weeks ago is running and working great! I have a hose attached for direct drainage so I don't have to empty the bucket. What I really like about it is that it runs without much noise. My previous dehumidifier was very loud / noisy.

Not Bad for the price

I received it within two days of ordering. The unit is quiet enough, the compressor makes little noise like most when kicked in. Keeps the basement at 45% in humid Iowa, and it's a big basement. But I maybe should have gotten the 70 pint as it has trouble getting it down to 40%. I bought the 3 year warranty, was only $18 at the time. Worth it for as long as most of these last. I would recommend it.

Works like a charm!

I'm overall very pleased with this machine. It has reduced the humidity in my 1000 sq ft house from around 70-75% to around 50 or 55% pretty consistently. It does run pretty much constantly but the results have been great. I'm amazed by how much water it pulls out of our air. I believe it has reduced the mold in my house during rainy weather and even improved our health as a result! My only complaint is that it's kind of loud. My decibel meter reads over 80 dB when placed next to it. I like to move it out of the room when I watch TV.

efficient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this unit to replace a 70 pint unit that quit working. I have been pleased with its efficiency! I have it in a basement that also has a crawl space attached, so noise isn't really an issue for us, as we don't spend too much time down there. I do go down for laundry & often hang up clothes so they won't shrink. As soon as I start hanging up damp clothes, the unit kicks in! It amazes me every time how quickly it senses the moisture in the air & gets to work without fail!

Does the Job

My previous dehumidifier died and it didn't take long for the basement to smell musty again. Bought this new dehumidifer and within just a few days the musty smell was gone. It was easy to set up, but it would have been nice to know that the unit should be tilted slightly backward when using a hose for water drainage.

Works GREAT!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been so impressed with this dehumidifier. It replaced an older unit and works ever so much better and efficiently. It has much lower power usage which is a blessing because it has to run so much in our damp basement.

Outstanding Dehumidifier

Living in SW Florida, the winters are often too cool for the air-conditioner to be on, but the humidity is still around. The Frigidaire 50-pint dehumidifier is the answer! It is efficient, powerful and relatively quiet (compared to our 7-yr-old Honeywell). It dries out half of the house within an hour or two (from 70% humidity down to 45%). I love it! I'm considering buying another for the other side of the house. It does not heat up the room either. Perhaps a couple of degrees, but it does not emit the hot air that our old Honeywell does. The unit was not on sale, but it was well worth the money.

Don't Like New Design.

I bought this to replace my old Frigidaire 50-Pint Dehumidifier. I don't like the new handle on the bucket. When the bucket is full and heavy, it becomes detached when carrying it to sink to empty. It seems to run for a LONG time after the desired humidity is reached in my basement. I preferred the exhaust air coming out of the bottom and side of the older model (personal preference.) I also preferred the flat top of the older model as opposed to the new model with the sloping top.
